  I'm considering leaving my husband after 17 years.  He's an alcoholic and refuses to stop drinking or get help. We have 4 kids together,  and I've always been a stay at home mom for the most part.  I've become codependent on him, and it honestly scares me to be on my own with my kids after all this time. I should add that we got married when I was 17, so I've never been on my own completely.  My question is, does anyone have any advice for me as far as what all I can apply for as far as...

  I just joined this group hoping to get some advice from people who understand my situation.  I've been married to my husband for 17 years.  I got married at 17. We have 4 kids together,  my oldest being 16, youngest is 7. Anyhow,  not too long after we got married and started having kids, my husband turned to alcohol.  Over the years he's progressed to drinking 3 30 packs of beer a week.  Plus whatever else he can fit in.
