  I made a friend at my old job who I bonded with over the high levels of anxiety we both have. We became close fast as we started to lean on eachother when times were hard. It was so nice to have someone who understood exactly what I was going through. Over the year of our friendship he gradually became harder to console.   As do many of us, I have a stressful job.I work for an engineering firm who is building runways for a major airport (names omitted on purpose). The airport operates on a city budget as do most. Our sub-consultants bill us, we bill the city. The city is avoiding payments by design by adding all kinds of new policies which lenghten the amount of time it takes them to pay out. Typically it takes 60-120 days for payment if everything goes smoothly. Their game is now rejecting them at the 120 day...

  I have worked very hard for years to not be a "woe is me" type of person but a recent string of misfortune really has me beaten down. One thing after another kept slapping me in the face and finally the cherry on top, I sliced my finger to the bone 3 days before my new insurance kicked in. I went to immediate care and got 4 stitches and a x-ray because the bone was visible so they feared I damaged it.
