  We have a big week ahead and I'm hoping we will at least get some sense of peace at the end.  The not sleeping and constant stress over what the outcome will be is really wearing on me.  On Tuesday, we are attending what is called a "staffing" meeting where we will be sitting down with my stepson (the offender), his mother, my husband, his defense attorney, and members of the department of juvenile justice to discuss what we will the appropriate next steps are.  The panel will prepare a...

  It's been a while since I posted.  Some background - late January my 5 year old son disclosed he was being sexually abused by my 11 year old stepson.  There was also an incident that occured with our 6 year old female neighbor, who is best friends with my son.  The state decided not to press charges, but instead enter him into a diversion program.  We spent months trying to find a therapist who could help and finally found a local program for juvenile sex offenders in May.  He has been...

  So when I thought things were going okay and we were getting back to some sense of  "normal", I have been very angry the past few days and this is not an emotion I am used to dealing with.  A little background - a few weeks ago my 5 year old son told us he was being sexually abused by my 11 year old stepson. Currently, my stepson has been removed from our house (he is staying with his mother), and there is no contact order between the boys while the investigation is ongoing.  We are waiting...
