Status: "Waking up" - seeing the changes I MUST make inside myself - but scared to immobility to even thinking about taking that first step!
About Me
45 year old ex addict - I've been to all the 12 step programs I can stomach and none have helped. I see now why - I was not trying to get to the root of it all... attachment trauma! My parents screwed me up - and I have attached myself to narcissists and drug addicts ever since. My husband of 10 years passed away a short while ago and I jumped right into the next dysfunctional relationship. I am determined to break this chain and FIX ME!!! I do not want my children to grow up codependent. My fear of abandonment is crippling though, I can literally feel my brain "click" when the fear hits me. I go from strong, independent to begging him to stay in a matter of seconds... Bi-Polar has nothing on a codependent brain!
