  I was in an abusive relationship for 17 years it's the only relationship I've ever even been in so what I thought of as love im now finding out wasn't love at all and that sucks my dad says things like I just need to let it go and it's insulting frankly. I let it go for 17 years just because I'm no longer being abused doesn't mean the pain and anger are gone. I refuse to let it go when I was tortured for 17 years and everyone blames me because I stayed. I really think I had Stockholm syndrome...

  I have recently started back in counseling which seems to be flaring up my symptoms and now that I've flared them up I'm struggling to calm them back down. My counselor suggested I be more open with my psych dr so I decided to listen and was more open but my dr literally acted annoyed by me showing emotion and I'm so sick of Dr's that have absolutely horrific bedside manner. She has me trying trintellix again which makes me sick every time I take it! It's just so frustrating trying to get help...

  I was in a very long term abusive relationship and since the end of out marriage I have tried to keep my emotions shoved down but I recently decided to start therapy again and although it is helping a lot I'm struggling with racing thoughts hypomania and depression. I'm just looking for coping ideas to help me shut my brain off! I'm having lots of flashbacks and anger because I am so mad at myself for ruining my whole life trying to love an abusive person.
