Wow, all you brave souls traveling with the LO's!! lol We're talking about a vacay sometime next year, and I'm kinda dreading the thought. But he'll be over 1 by then, so hopefully it won't be too bad. I guess we gotta do it some time!

Yay for sleeping through the night!! I didn't really want Prescott's bedtime to be so early, but he pretty much set it himself around 8. Some nights it's closer to 9 and occasionally it's earlier, but it's always between 730-9. I will say, however, that on the nights we're out with him later than that, he tends to still do ok. He may be a little crankier the next day, but it's not terrible. The worst for him is when he have him in the pool for more than an hour. He's so cranky the next day!! All he does is cry, eat and sleep. I guess the sun and water just wears him out. So no more pool "days" for him. Just pool time that doesn't last very long. Hopefully next summer will be better.

That totally sucks about the hotel, but I'm glad you got it straightened out and ended up having a good time. I've been told that most hotels have cribs, so when we do go on vacay, we will make sure, so we don't have to haul the pack n play with us. Of course, by then, he'll be big enough, he can just sleep in the bed with us.

If you like the footie pj's just not the snaps, I highly recommend the zip up ones. It's all Pres wore for the first month or so!! Love those things. Super easy to get on and off, and he only had to wear 1 thing, so it was less to keep up with. Now he's so hot natured that most days he's just in a onesie. I hope he cools off in the winter, because I want to go back to the footie pj's. lol

Our 4 mo check up is next week (when he's actually 4 1/2 mos!), so we'll get a weight and height. Hope y'all have a good weekend! Kiss the babies for me!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the zip up footed pj's - especially now that I'm 1 handed - but if it's real warm then I have his daddy put him in a onesie n then I only have 2 deal w/ a couple snaps @ diaper changing time.

looks like we've got a tooth coming in - other than chewing on EVERYTHING he really doesn't have any symptoms - WOOHOO!!!!! might give him a little Tylenol if he gets crabby but so far so good.

Joey had her 4 month check up today!! She is 15lbs 13oz and 25 1/4 inches....85 percentile for both height and weight! Such a chunky monkey!! She has s few shots and oral vaccine today....right now she is napping which never happens (that is about the only good thing about shot day)

The doctor said I could start some solids if i wanted to but I could also wait until she was 6 months if I wanted to...i think I am going to wait a little longer...she does seem interested in what we are eating but I am going to give it a little bit...I did buy a mesh feeder and I froze some breastmilk in a little tray so I might put one of the "boobsicles" in the mesh feeder and let her try that out...she will think she is eating but it will still just be mommas milk...she has really been chewing on the left side so I am not sure if we are getting a tooth or what...extra fussy as well!

I am slowly go thru her clothes because her closet is stuffed to the max...some of it fits her and some of it is way to small but there is so much that its too time consuming to do it all at once so I just pull out a few pieces every time i go into her closet for something..that makes the process easier! I JUST CANT BELIEVE HOW FAST THESE BABIES ARE GROWING!!! My pregnancy did not go this quick..thats for sure!!!

I started putting her in the walker..still have to put a blanket in front of her so she doesnt topple over but she really likes it but she has already had 2 huge poop explosions in it so thats annoying to drag the hose out to spray it down lol ...she has moved herself backwards in it once on the carpet...i am interested to see how much she can move it on a hard floor..

That's weird. Maybe it's different for boys vs girls, but at Pres's 4 mo checkup he was 15lbs 5oz and 26" and that was only the 55th %tile. Which is totally fine with me, but I was just wondering why that's 85th for Joey. Either way, these babies are getting so big!!

His doc said since he's still only eating around 6oz per feeding and he's sleeping so well, there's no reason to start food yet. I told her I was planning on waiting until he's 6 mo to start baby led weaning anyway, and she said that sounded great to her. :) Today Kevin let him taste the plum he was eating, though. He just kind of licked on it, and made a face, but seemed to like it. He does stare at us when we eat, but he reaches for my cup anytime I drink! This morning he wanted my coffee. lol So it looks like we may be starting sippy cups pretty soon. I always loved the boobsicle idea. I was totally gonna do that if I had been able to breastfeed. :(

Prescott has so many clothes that I can't wait to put on him, but he's still able to wear a lot of his 0-3 mo stuff, and of course all of his 3 mo stuff. He even has a couple of large nb items that still fit! I guess he's just getting taller, and not really fatter, so he can wear this stuff longer. Technically his weight says he should be in size 2 diapers, but the 1's still fit, so I'll keep using those until we run out. I just hate that transitional size. The smaller ones are too small, but the next size up is too big! We're having the same issue with his swaddle blankets. He's really too big for the current ones, but the next size swallows him whole! So we're still using the littler ones for now.

I need to get a walker for him so he can try moving around the house. Right now all we have is the bouncy seat that doesn't go anywhere. He had been rolling over like a champ, but the last several times I've put him on his tummy, he just gets mad and won't roll over. Not sure what that's about. The dr was impressed with his core strength. The "tense" thing is apparently just him trying really hard to sit up. He can do, and hold, a crunch forever! She said she wouldn't be surprised if he's sitting up on his own by his next appt. I can tell he's ready to get up and go. I kinda dread when he's really able to, because I'll never be able to keep up!! lol

Ugh can I have a doctor vent? So Samuel is unwell...slight fever, fussy, sleeping a ton, not nursing or having as many wet diapers...so I called yesterday to be reminded of what temperatures they want to see babies at and what other symptoms and signs I should watch for or be concerned about particularly for dehydration as it's crazy hot and not nursing/ less wet diapers seem like they could be setting him up for that....and nobody calls me back. So at 6am today, his temp jumps up a bit so I call our pediatrician on call (since that's why they are there) and he's like 'well a fever in and of itself is not that concerning unless it's more than 48 hrs or higher then 106. You can be perfectly healthy and have a 104 temp or have meningitis at 101.' Well thanks you've been very helpful...guess my son might have meningitis or nothing...that's kinda why I called you...how about you go back to sleep now since I obviously woke you up and maybe your office will call me back and I can talk to someone more reasonable.

And he's back to normal...no meningitis....

Anywho...Joey is well lets say a spirited little girl...her sleep is soo messed up and it makes for a very long miserable day most days...i feel so bad for her because I am sure she feels yucky from not sleeping...took her to the doctors about this and basically the doctor said she feels that joey is fussy from not sleeping and she isnt sleeping because some babies dont transition well (whatever that means) and the less she sleeps...the harder it will be for her fall and stay asleep! she also said for me to let her fuss for 5 minutes once we lay her down for a nap but only 5 minutes....well im not done w any type of crying it out..secondly she has cried by herself for more than 5 minutes and never fell asleep like if i was in the bathroom or something so idk why i should subject her to 5 mins of meltdown just to pick her up once the 5 mins are up...seems dumb...im going to try something new this week..i think i will take her up to my room when she is getting sleepy (way before she gets overly tired) and lay in the bed and nurse her while side laying....once she is unlatched and hopefully asleep I will just sit in my room and work on my homework or straighten up my room...she needs to start napping somehow!

she pretty much fusses all day when i am at work with episodes of full on melt downs...probably a good thing she isnt in daycare because they probably would have kicked her out by now. hubby is having a hard time coping when she is having the full on melt downs...he takes many breaks and goes out on the porch while she sits inside screaming ...she does a fair amount of screaming for me as well but i have the magical boob that i just whip out and she nurses and calms down...he does not have that magic power.i hope that trying this new nap thing will work for her...rob doesnt really sit still well but if i am able to get her to take a couple hour nap on our bed every day then he is gonna have to suck it up and sit in the bedroom with her while she sleeps for a nap when he has her on the weekends....she cant stay on the bed alone because she just started rolling over (back to belly) and i dont want her rolling off the bed or rolling and getting her face stuck in a pillow and suffocating because she hasnt figured out how to roll from belly to back

well im gonna go to bed..been up since 4am! Night Ladies

Poly, I hear ya on the routine interruption front. Prescott is a BEAR the day after his routine has been even slightly out of the ordinary. Which is weird, since we really don't have a routine, as my work days and hours vary every week, but on the weekends if we go out to dinner a little later, or are out doing stuff all day, or even just have people over in the evening (like we did this past Sat night) but he still goes to bed "on time" (in quotes because even his bed time changes from night to night), it all makes him so cranky the next day. Sundays have just become "grump day" in our house, because we are usually doing something on Saturday that seems to throw him off. He was a beast yesterday too, because I had to wake him up early. Let him wake up early on his own and he's fine, but heaven forbid I have to make him get up. I kinda wanted to throw in the towel yesterday. My dad was hanging out at my house because I had taken him for a colonoscopy in the am, and then brought him home with me. I felt bad for him, because Pres wasn't having it. He'd stay happy with Paw Paw for about 5 min, and then he wanted mommy back. It was awful. He's at his granny's right now while I am at work. I sure hope he's better today. I think I'll leave him there a little longer and go get my nails done. Mommy needs a break! :)

jmommy, glad to hear that all is well and no meningitis!! That stuff can be awful.

Kate, you are a super mom!! I have 2 days of screaming baby, and I'm about to pull my hair out!! I'd have to be committed if it was an every day thing! Have you tried to give her anything to help calm her? Like gripe water, or an amber necklace, or some shit like that? I have given the gripe water to Pres a few times when he was super fussy, and it seemed to help. Plus, it can solid up the poop a little, so there's a chance it could help with the blowouts.

Prescott has learned to roll over in his rocker, so we have to really keep an eye on him when he's in it now. Which sucks, because I used to put him in it to watch TV while I showered, so that's out now. I kinda dread when he becomes totally mobile, because I'm not gonna be able to keep up with him! He's also found one of his feet. Just one. lol He doesn't seem to be flexible enough to get it in his mouth, but he's trying. He'll be 5 mo on Saturday! Time is flying and this summer is slipping away. Someone please stop this train!! The only thing I'm looking forward to this winter is the end of my cell phone contract so I can get rid of this piece of shit S3 and get my iPhone back! lol Otherwise, I wish winter would never come. I hate cold weather. But then again, I'll be able to put Pres in some super cute outfits without him burning up, so I guess there is a plus side. :)

I am never one 2 wish away summer, but this one blows so far and I'm hoping Aug goes pretty quick - I want my stupid cast off, next Wed!!!! I want 2 start rehabbing my hand and I want our fat cattle 2 get fat enough 2 sell (we need the cash).

So mommas...i think i have PPD...i have been trying to shake it off for sometime and i thought going back to work would help me "snap out of it" and it hasnt gotten any better...i legit want to get in my car and drive away ....im furstrated that my LO cries all the time and my husband is not helpful...he keeps pressuring me to give her food and all this other shit that i have done research on and he refuses to even look at what the American pediatrics recommendatoins are but listen to his mother or other ppl who just give their baby food so they will sleep....wtf...i hate everyone at this point and im really ready to lose it...i feel like a terrible person and mom ... i thought i wouldnt be faced w these hardships because i wanted her so bad and now im just like uhh this sucks....i cant even stand myself.....

Kate- I'm so sorry you're feeling this way but please know, you aren't alone. I honestly think I suffered PPD after Brenna's birth as well. For the first few weeks, I was just weepy and emotional. But for months afterward, I despised being a mom. I know that sounds awful. I had so much guilt because I wanted her so badly and I loved her so much. I hated that I was the only one to feed her (BF sucks sometimes!) and I resented my husband as well. It took me a good 5-6 months to actually start feeling like myself again. I'm finally feeling much better but I still have moments of frustration and I really wish I would've spoken with someone or addressed my concerns with my MD. How old is Joey?

She is almost 5 months.....I know I should go to the doctors but i dont want medication because u generally cant breastfeed when on anti depressants and altho breastfeeding def does suck sometimes I think it would legit put me over the edge if I couldnt breastfeed her
