ANB: we do not have the traditional bumper like the one that goes with the bedding set....babiesrus sells mesh bumpers..that is what we have..not that she sleeps in her crib anyways lol....she is set up in the pack n play in our room and i still have to use a positioner or she wont stay asleep without it.....
she used to be a good sleeper...not so much anymore....most days she takes 5 minute cat naps and wakes up like 3 times a night..idk what the deal is...ppl kept trying to push me to give her cereal which i just respond that she will get it at 6 months...ive had stomach issues for as long as i can remember..idk if its from the way my mom fed me when i was a baby or what but i dont want to take the chance....my mom tried to BF me but they were pretty broke when i was born so she couldnt make milk because she basically only ate hot dogs..i lost a ton of weight and then the doc said to use formula to which my mom said "my husband doesnt believe in commercial formula" so the doctor gave her a recipe to make her own which involved evap milk and Karo and i was started on cereal at only a few weeks old
Anywho: I just had to unpack the 3/6 months clothes because the 0/3 and 3 months are quickly becoming too small....we just switched over to size 2 diapers ...she is seriously a chunky monkey!!! I bought a pack of the Target brand diapers..i have had several ppl tell me they are the best diapers they have ever used and joey blows out her diaper at least once a day with her morning poop so i thought i would give them a try so here is to hoping they contain the poop!! I am thinking she is between 13-14 pounds..she doesnt go back to the doc for like another month....
She has not rolled over yet but has much more head control than she had...she still hates tummy time but she will hold herself up when u hold her up at the shoulder.....
well gotta go,...hubby forgot his wallet so i have to take it to him.
kevsgirl - we didn't experience the tenseness u mention - would luv 2 hear what u find out.
For the last several days Prescott seems to have put himself on a diet. He'll take a full bottle first thing in the morning, but the rest of the day he'll only take about 1/2 a bottle at a time. He then gets hungry again in the evenings and will eat a lot before bed. It's weird. Maybe this is him getting himself ready to start eating real foods? I dunno. But I'm not gonna complain, the less formula we go through, the better. lol
We do have a regular bumper in his crib. He slides down in his crib, but not really side to side, so he doesn't tend to even get close to it. Plus now he can roll over, so I'm not worried about it.
I haven't used the overnight diapers, so I can't comment on that. I will say that I just finished a pack of Huggies that someone had bought us, and I def prefer the Pampers swaddlers. I have a big box of the Babies R Us brand in the closet that I don't really want to use, but if he's still in 1's when we get there, I guess I will. Either that, or take them back and exchange them for the Pampers.
Sorry about your daily diaper blow out, Kate. At least she's regular? lol
Poly, hope you're healing well and can get back to typing with 2 hands soon. :)
I def prefer pampers swaddlers also - but it makes me mad that huggies has WAY better coupons.
got permanent type cast 2day. no finger use until 8/6. can't even begin 2 explain how frustrating this is
Trey is getting quite mobile, not really crawling but definite scooting. we have hardwood floors so they are slick, don't know if that makes it easier or harder to scoot/crawl.
Brenna is starting to get up on hands and knees- not quite crawling, she prefers to roll everywhere!
Her sleep pattern has been so wacky lately. She's horrible at napping- some days, she only takes a 20 minute nap all day. But, her nighttime routine is getting more difficult. Sometimes, she's ready for bed at 7:30. Last night, she was up until 10PM.
We are currently visiting new daycares and are trying to make a decision. I'm really enjoying her being with her grandmothers this summer- wish she never had to go back!
ANB: Joey is also a horrible napper...she is a diehard...she refuses to sleep...she will fall asleep while nursing or if someone is holding and bouncing her but the second u even attempt to put her down she is up lol...she will nap in her car seat if we are out running around...i used to let her in there when we would get home if she is asleep because i didnt want her to be the kid who only sleeps in her car seat but that was short lived but now she will only stay asleep like 15 mins after we get out of the car...it makes for a long day...she did sleep 8+ hours before waking up the past 2 nights and then went back to sleep for a few more hours which was nice but i am soo exhausted by the time she goes to bed that i have a hard time getting anything done once she goes to bed lol....the first night she slept that long i woke up with a soaked shirt/bra/sheets haha..i knew i should have pumped before i went to sleep esp since she got expressed milk while we were at a carnival so i was pretty full but tired so i just went to sleep thinking she would be up to eat anyways but she slept all night lol...i will def pump before bed now every night just in case! haha
so she also still cries most of the day while i am at work which gives me serious anxiety esp when my husband doesnt answer the phone or my texts...my MIL originally wanted to retire to watch her (this was when i was gonna go back FT) but now i think she has changed her tune lol...she was over here all weekend helping hubby and got to see what i mean when i say she doesnt nap haha
Tomorrow (7/4) will be one year since i got pregnant with her....so crazy!!! Im sad that I have to work 3-11 tomorrow and wont be able to put her to bed...that will be daddies job..i have a feeling she will still be awake when i get home lol..i cant believe that a year ago I was getting ready for my transfer and now i have a chunky baby!
Poly, hope you're feeling better. Nia is 31/2 months old. She naps only after eating and just on me for s half hour or so. If try to put her in the crib to nap she wakes up. Bedtime is At9:30. If we try to put her down before then, she wakes up after five minutes. Put her own at 9:30 or after and she's out like a light. She then sleeps until 3:30 or 4 am.
I think she's teething... She's drooling more and always wanting yo gnaw on things, especially her hands. Sometimes she's been fussy at the bottle too....but after I let her chew a bit shell eat ok. She's now over 15 pounds and her head is in the 95th percentile. Lol.
And...pamper swaddlers rule. Don't like huggies .have tried the pampers nighttime extra dry. Seem to work. She only poops every other day.
Parent our babies quirks so interesting?.. So glad y'all are we'll.
Samuel still gets up twice at night to eat....not sure if I should try to stretch him out or wait and see if he does it on his own...I'm just so exhausted it's easier to feed him and put him back down.
Kate...he explodes every poopy diaper too...doesn't matter brand or even size above....it's just what he does. I think once he gets solids it will improve as it won't be as much liquid...I have gotten really good at stain removal :) was at the doc this morning with the boys and heard him poo while the doc stepped out...when the doc came back he started fussing and the doc told me I could pick him up...I just tried to soothe him in his seat til we were finished and so glad I did....poop everywhere! Also we tried removing dairy from my diet (as my older boy is sensitive to it) and it didn't help. (Plus no dairy is miserable!)
we went away for 2 days...my husband had training in NY for work so we went with him..man oh man....the days of just throwing a few things in a bag to go away are long gone...we had to pack all this stuff ...the car was packed to the max lol ..needless to say it was miserable getting there...we didnt leave until after 8pm because i worked til 7 ...i was able to get her jammies on and nurse her before we left and she fell asleep within in a few minutes of driving but then we got stuck in traffic on the george washington bridge for a long time....got to the hotel after midnite...they tell us that they dont have a reservation for him!! apparently his boss forgot to make it...then he asks for a room w a king bed and refrigerator (i have to pump before bed or i wake up soaked) she says she has no king rooms so we take a queen...we get up to the room and it is literally the size of a shoe box!! like our bedroom is bigger than this room..there is barely room for the pack n play and NO REFRIGERATOR. so he goes back down and tells that the room is not going to work so they give us a new room...surprise surprise the new room is a king with a fridge....it was hot as hell in there and the AC wouldnt kick on ...my husband was really ready to spaz out on the lady but it finally kicked on! we did have a nice time away...went to the carters outlet and i badly wanted to buy everything in the store...except the footed jammies,....im totally over the footie jammies....the buttons are too much for me when its dark and she is crying because she is hungry and i am barely awake lol..i just use pants and a long sleeve onesies ....much easier at 5am!!!
well gotta go..i heard an explosion from joey so i must go scrub some clothes lol
