I'm the same way. I will let him fuss/whine/cry, especially if I'm trying to get something done, or I know that he's just being grumpy and there's nothing wrong with him. Once he starts really screaming, though, I have to pick him up. He'll eventually learn to sooth himself, but for now, we are what soothes them. They want their mommies, and I'm ok with that. :)

The little boy has added a new move to his repertoire. He has always liked to stand up - he doesn't like to cuddle or sit down, he wants to be up, seeing all the action. Well now he not only stands up but he stomps his feet. And he will stomp his feet if he's mad or if he's really happy. I think it's cute, but I prob need to put an end to his foot stomping when he's mad. I can see temper tantrums in our future. He's a VERY happy/easy to get along with baby - but he has a temper. It doesn't show itself ALOT, but it is there. And at this stage it's funny - but I have seen WAY too many parents laugh it off and then when they get older it makes for a HORRID child. I'm hoping his new jumperoo will help focus his footstomping.

my little girl is 6 weeks old today!! (where does the time go??!) I wanted to start napping her in her crib like a week ago but i didnt realize my monitor needs a special battery which they only sell at babiesrus (which is an hour from us) so i had to order one and i just am waiting for it to come....we are supposed to start putting her in the crib at night at 8 weeks (this was our agreement) but i have to conquer nap time in her crib before we do night time...if the damn battery would get here that would be great!! i have many things to get done but dont want to leave her in the swing while i run all over the house because of the dogs so i really want to get her napping in her crib.

Joey HATES tummy time....like she will do nothing but cry...i even bought this little pillow toy thing that u put under them for tummy time and she still wants nothing to do with it,....she just lays there like a bump on a log and then cries lol....she will lift her head like crazy if she is on your shoulder tho...she is a pretty cuddly baby so i think she just wants to cuddle as opposed to exercise lol (i hate exercising too)

I just ordered her some new jeans..its like impossible to find used jeans for little ones...i had to cave and buy new because i have all these shirts that dont really do with the stretchy leggin pants and would look better w jeans plus its still been pretty chilly here so i think little leggins arent really a good options right now lol. hopefully the jeans fit here when they get here!!


of course she just woke up as well.i was about to get a shower ...she must have sensed it lol..hopefully she falls back asleep because i need to wash my hair and shave my legs today so i cant be taking a 5 min shower ..i need atleast 15 today haha! i usually only get a shower if she is sleeping if no one is home to tend to her....only once did i get a shower while she was awake and she started screaming about 2 mins after i got in ....she may go back to sleep..she is talking to the bears that are above her swing and hasnt looked over in my direction yet so i am hoping she will close her eyes :)


my little girl def has an attitude....she doesnt really cry ..she gets fussy sometimes but she will leave out these loud yells if u arent tending to her lol....its funny and i say she gets it from her dad for sure!

Trey is 3 months old today - I don't think he's overly HUGE but he's big enough, will get weighed on Fri at his doc appt. But EVERYONE says he is very advanced for his age. I have nothing to compare him too, but he is very strong, holds his head well (always has) and he's very curious. He is NOT a cuddler, he wants to see and experience everything. There are 2 other babies his age at church and they are content to sit in their carseats during service and he insists on being held. But you can't just hold him on your hip or anything, he has to have his back facing you so he can look out at everyone.

Looks like he wants a snack. :)

My little man is turning into such a chunk! We go for his 2 mo appt Thurs, so I'll get a weight then, but his little face and arms and legs are quickly growing lots of fat rolls! On one hand, I love fat babies, and I want him to be one. But on the other hand, I miss my skinny little guy. He's already grown so much, I just want to make it stop!! Flipping through pics on my phone makes me sad for the time that's already gone. But I also can't wait for him to be able to do more. I want to see him roll over and sit up and crawl and walk and talk. I can't wait for him to be able to run and play with the dogs, go swimming, go fishing with his daddy. I just wish I could stop time for a while at each stop along the way. I guess this is motherhood, huh? :)

Ugh kevsgirl- I feel you! Every time Brenna does something different, I'm so excited and I cannot wait to see her grow and learn. But at the same time, I miss my little baby who was content just laying in my arms. It's tough sometimes! I look at pictures of when she was first born and she has just changed so much- it's so hard to believe! Can't wait to hear how big all the babies are! We have our 5 month appointment on Friday!

I too am very excited with every new thing that Trey learns but then reflect back with a twinge of sadness that he's moved on and left some things behind. He used to make this cute little face, like he was saying "oh" and he doesn't do that anymore and damnit, I don't have a pic of it. He used to look so cute sleeping in the laundry basket and now he'd fill it up. But then yesterday he laughed for the first time and it was so adorable.

But speaking of which - the little turd will do something once and then you can't get him to do it again, like rolling over or laughing. GGGrrrr

We have his 2 month old doc appt on Fri (we're only a month late) :) Looking forward to seeing what he weighs, not looking forward to getting shots.

I think I'm gonna take a nap - I don't take very many of them anymore but today I'm tired.

We had our 2 mo appt today and he weighed in at a whopping 11lbs 10oz and 23in!! That puts him in the 50th percentile for weight! He had a little catching up to do from birth, and I'd say he's accomplished that! lol

Poly, Prescott made that same face, and we were lucky enough to get the best picture of it during his newborn photo shoot! He actually was making that face in several pics, but there's one close up that is just the cutest damn thing ever. It kinda looks like he's getting ready to say "Whatchoo talkin bout, Willis?" lol He has also stopped making that face now, but he's replaced it with smiles, so I'm ok with it. :) He will smile and babble all day long, but as soon as you turn the camera on him to try and catch it on film, he stops. The little booger already knows to be camera shy like his daddy. Ugh, so annoying! lol

I love our pediatrician. She's totally ok with delayed vaxing, so we won't have to start his shots for a few more months. I'd like to wait until he's at least 6 mo, and then do them on a more spread out schedule so he's not getting so many at once. Give his body time to process the chemicals from each one before he gets the next. Since he's not in daycare, there's no reason to rush into it.

Oh I do love the smiles and he laughed a little bit again today - OMG that is just the sweetest thing ever.

I hope I like the doc tomorrow - I did like the one in our other town, even though I only saw him the one time. He seemed pretty good. And this new one comes highly recommended, so I'm sure I'll like him. I am kinda leary about the vaccines, I've heard bad things but then again I hear of all these epidemics returning and I would be so heartbroken if Trey were to get something we could have vaccinated for. I really should get the book about vaccinations and maybe I'll discuss with the new doc tomorrow and only give him one vax. But then again some of them are combo vax so you get them all at once. GGGRRRR it just seems there is no right answer.

And to be honest I realize I don't do enough research on some things but I do know that there are quite a few families around here that homeschool and from what I gather, they don't do all/any vax. I have nothing against homeschooling, I am even considering it myself but I've seen some of these ppl, they aren't the brightest, they seem to let their kids run wild with little supervision and I can't see that they spent a whole lot of time doing their research before they made the decision to not vaccinate and I don't want their kids infecting mine.

I think I'm gonna sit down real quick and make up a list of the few questions I had for the doc - make sure I don't forget anything.

We had our 5 month well visit yesterday for Brenna- she weighs 13 pounds and 10 ounces now and is 26 inches long. She's really a string bean- except for the chunky thighs/fat rolls. We also have her first tooth coming in and I was bitten the other night! Ouch! We do vaccinate but we are on an extended schedule by her pediatrician. She gets 2 each time and we go every month. Alot of people have told me that's a pain in the ass but I don't mind going at all. I feel better about it. I wanted to delay but we started daycare at 3 months so didn't want to risk it.

I'm worried about Nia getting so many vaccines at once, bit it's necessary since she'll be going to infant care in sept. I think it's important to vaccinate....I it's a shame people in this day and age don't vaccinate and certain diseases that were almost gone or under control are back. I'm an educator... IMO homeschooling is ok only if parents provide many opportunities for socialization.

We had our appt today, it went well, the doc seems to be pretty nice, kinda nerdy but a nice guy. The nurse was super sweet, I'd go back just to see her again. Trey screamed his head off and turned beet red when he got the shots, but they are done, he might be a little extra fussy, but that could be because he hasn't gotten his normal nap either. I gave him some Tylenol right after the shots, so hopefully that'll help and life will be ok.

He was 3 months on the 5th and he measured 23 1/2" today (so in the 17th percentile), the nurse kept saying how short he was, but I just told her to look at his parents. :) He weighed 14 lbs 10 oz (BIG BOY) so that was the 76th percentile. I can't remember what his head measured but it's BIG - in the 92 percentile. No wonder I have a hard time getting onesies on him.

The doc said something about him being extra alert or something along those lines cuz when he pulled out his tongue depressor to check his mouth, Trey grabbed it. Doc wasn't expecting that. :)

Got him a used jumparoo today - you can tell it's used, some of the paint on the stand is scratched off and some of the toys are faded, but it'll still work. And since there's a chance it might end up in our barn to entertain him while his dad and I breed cattle, then there's a chance it could get a lot dirtier.

I agree with you Mag - it's horrible that ppl are making a conscious choice to not vaccinate and then ppl are contracting and even dying from diseases that should have been eradicated.

I guess I've thought about homeschooling cuz of where we live, if Trey were to take a bus to school, he'd have to be on it for almost 2 hours before he got to school and home, so that's a minimum of 3 hours a day, just on a bus. I could drive him, but it's still 45 minutes, IF the weather is good, longer if the weather is bad. And more than likely the weather/roads will be bad a great deal of the time. I have two concerns with the homeschooling, one the socialization, but it seems that the homeschoolers around here don't have that problem. They are involved in 4H, church, a lot of other extracurricular activities that I'm sure we'd participate in some of them also. The other thing I have a hard time with is the parents that just turn their kids loose on the "workbooks" and don't pay attn. or monitor their kids. I have a friend who's kids are always 2-3 grades AHEAD of their age range but she is an actual licensed school teacher. We have another friend who's kids are behind in at least one subject. And they don't seem to be putting much emphasis on catching up or getting the younger kids even started. If we decide to do it, I'm hoping that since DH & I are both college educated that we'd be smart enough to help our kid(s) and I would just have to prioritize time to do more than just set them at a desk and expect them to teach themselves.

OK off my soapbox. :) I'm gonna go finish cleaning his "new" jumparoo and see if we can get it functional for him by tonight.

Part of my problem is that I research stuff TOO much! lol There are so many conflicting stories and points of view on everything parenting. It's enough to make you want to just give up and let gorillas raise your kid! ;)

As far as the vaccines, there are so many heartbreaking stories of kids that were perfect before a vaccine that ended up with terrible, permanent problems afterward, that it's just too much to ignore. But then there are the stories of the kids contracting the old diseases too. That's why we're going with the delayed schedule. I want to protect him from disease, but I am also very concerned about all of the chemicals and additives in the vaccines, and the possible side effects they can cause. We're lucky that we don't have to put him in daycare, and have that option. I'm not sure that I want to give him all of the shots though. I mean, the ones that have been around since we were kids, like polio, MMR, Tdap, etc... I understand the need for. But chicken pox?? Really? When we were kids our parents used to make us play with kids that had it to make sure we got it!! I know that for a rare few, it can be a horrible disease, but for most kids it's just something uncomfortable that goes away in a couple weeks. I don't see the benefit outweighing the risk on that one. But we'll see how it goes. I also don't feel we need to be giving children the Hep B vaccine. Vaccines are only effective for a certain period of time (most about 10 yrs or so), so by the time the kids are old enough to be doing the type of stuff that they could contract Hep B from, the vaccine will have worn off anyway. But I digress, to each his own, and every family is different.

I would LOVE to homeschool, and I hope that I am able to when the time comes. There are so many great programs for homeschooled kids nowadays for socialization. The family down the street from me homeschools, and they have 3 kids, so there's some friends right away! lol But they do all sorts of things in the community, even a prom! Not to mention sports and other activities to get into outside of school. Most homeschooled kids are way ahead of their peers in school, and are much more prepared for college and the real world. None of that common core crap. lol There are just so many reasons to homeschool for me, like not wanting them to eat the crap they feed them at school, the fact that all kids learn differently and at different rates, our schools are seriously lacking in areas like music and the arts, they don't get near enough physical activity during the day, and small children aren't built to sit at a desk for 8 hours a day, yet if they don't do it then they are instantly labeled ADHD and their parents are strongly encouraged to put them on meds. Not to mention the safety issue with the crazy ass shit that kids will pull these days with the bullying and bringing weapons/drugs/etc to school! Ugh, I just can't! Yeah, the more I talk about it, the more I'm sure I want to homeschool! lol

Glad to hear all the little ones are growing like weeds!! I finally got some film of Prescott babbling and laughing at his daddy. He didn't know I was filming him. Gotta be sneaky! lol

I just can't stop looking at him. I love to watch him watch the world. I have a mirror in the car that lets me look at him from my rearview, and I love to watch him looking out the window and feeling the wind in his face when the windows are down. He loves it. He's just so content, and it's so friggin adorable. I also love to watch him sleep. The little faces and noises he makes, just makes me wonder what he's dreaming about. He's just so stinkin cute, and it's so amazing to see the world through his eyes. :D

We go on Friday for her 2 month check up...i am eager to see how much weight she has gained.......not so eager for shots and I think she is having blood work around 2 months as well which is even more upsetting....i am totally a pro-vax momma however i think we will only be doing 2 vaccines at once...i havent really discussed it with her doc yet but i will on friday. i do know that i will probably nurse her directly after the shot...they say that really helps and the docs are awesome there around letting u hang out in the room to nurse your baby before u leave if needed...

i nursed in public yesterday and i just have a hard time because at home we just whip out the boob and its simple but in the middle of a packed amusement park its not simple at all....it was so hot and a soda exploded on my nursing cover right before we left so i threw it in the washer because it would just attract bees so my husband was helping me hold a blanket over us and it was just so HOT and she chokes a lot while eating because my let down is seriously insanely forceful like my boobs actually hurt during let down and it chokes her a lot so its hard to not be able to monitor 100% like i can at home but we did it and we alll survived lol..i still would prefer not to do it in public lol


well gotta go....joey just made some seriously horrible noises (going potty) and im a little fearful to check her diaper because it sounds like it might be a terrible one lol!! oh the joys of a breastfed baby ;)

I told myself by the end of May that Trey would be sleeping in his crib. Since the 1st he's been sleeping in his bouncer chair in the crib and tonight he is straight up on the crib mattress. The first try didn't work so well, he cried for 20 minutes, at first it was a whimper, when it turned to a scream, I went to get him. He had been facing West when I put him down and when I went to get him he was facing East. I brought him downstairs and fed him - I think he was still a bit hungry cuz he took a bottle and normally won't unless he's really hungry. So now he's back in the crib, been there a couple minutes and I've heard nothing - so I'm thinking he's gonna fall asleep. YEAH!!!!! Now I can make some dinner. P.S. it's 10 PM
