This is such a big drop off. Is this normal?

I would have thought that more would have been fertilized with ICSI, but I'm not a doctor. Here is my experience: 37 eggs retreived, ONLY 12 mature, 9 fertilized with ICSI and then only 4 made it to freeze :(. So, I had a large drop off too - but it was more from eggs retreived vs mature eggs.

Bryn, I don't think there is a "normal" in this process. I know it's hard, but keep positive. My first try I had 17 and only 4 fertilized. By the day of transfer I had two left, but zero blasts. They transferred both and I got pregnant with twins. Last attempt I had 22 fertilize, 7 blasts and a BFN. You only need one for transfer, and it doesn't even have tobe a blastocyst. Sending hugs and prayers.

They usually expect 60-70% to fertilize. But with such high numbers I've seen that percentage go down. Think of it this way - your body is in overdrive (which is not a natural state) women only produce 1-2 eggs each month on their own. You got more than double that - it's still great. I've said this before and I'll say it again - it's QUALITY not QUANTITY! All you need is one!

Thank you, I read all your posts to DH and we agree, it's quality not quantity. All we need is one good embryo!

We even joked that this may save us money, freezing is $650 and storing is $700.

5 embryo's total: 2 (6 cell), 1 (5 cell), 1 (3 cell), 1 (2 cell)
We are so excited that these 5 are doing great!

That's a great update BrynMawr! Nothing much here on my end. Another appt on Monday to check lining and see how I'm doing and then hopefully my FET will be 8/19! Only 10 days away!

Well I'm 8 days into my 2ww. I could test this weekend at home, and I might. I am feeling ok, some weird back pain and cramping, and I spotted for 5 days, which has stopped. I know some of this could be from the PIO shots and the estrace. I'm very hopeful and cautiously optimistic. Good luck to all of you!

lizzy - glad we can still be 2WW buddies for at least 5-6 days! Last time I went crazy,but I'm going to not take so much time off of work this time so I can hopefully be preoccupied by things to do at the office. Everyone have a happy weekend!

Me too, Jat. I took two weeks off last time and spent all my time holding my bladder long enough to poas over and over again. Lol.
