My 8 year-old is playing her guitar in a recital for the first time today. I'm a little nervous for her! It's a casual thing, and I'm sure she'll do fine. I will say one thing; if you've got a kid who plays an instrument and doesn't practice enough, sign them up for a performance! It's been quite motivating for her.

So my ex just called to suggest that the 4 of us (him, me, and the kids) go have lunch. In what f'ed up universe would I want to do that? I will admit that a bit of the old fear of pissing him off crept in and I hesitated about saying no, but then I told myself that if I don't want to go to lunch, I don't have to! So I said no. He's all pised off now. Should be fun times at our daughter's recital this afternoon with him there glaring at me with hatred the whole time.

had a busy day today! went to church, went to my moms for an early christmas since she is leaving for florida, then we went to meet a new dog. She was really sweet, but my husband isnt sure. She really liked our other dog and our kid's though. My husband just wants to see if we can get her to be more playful. Luckily, she is with a foster family right now who said that they would let us have a week trial with her at our house to see how she adjusts. here's hoping!

another busy day in my future! still lots and lots of cleaning to do! I want to get the kid/dog room down stairs all cleaned up, vacuumed, and mopped and get all the dog bedding washed to prepare for our trial with the new dog. Hopefully i will get a chance to vacuum and mop the main floor and kitchen also.
