Don't mean to be a downer here, but I get thoughts daily about those poor families in Newtown who are suffering this holiday without their loved ones. I had a hard time at dinner on Christmas. I felt guilty smiling.

It's just not fair.

If you are getting a revolver, get a .357. That way you can shoot .38's in it and when needed can shoot the heavier loads. The .380 is cute but fits the category of "any gun is better than no gun". I like revolvers because they have a far less chance of having malfunctions. I have been looking at the Taurus Judge. It shoots .45 and .410 shotshells. Nasty little bugger. But then I reload .45's so I am a bit prejudiced. I have a Ruger Blackhawk that shoots 9mm, .38 and .357 just by switching cylinders. And several .45 revolvers.

Okieman, I agree, it sucks that something like that would happen. Unfortunately the mental health system in this country has sucked since the 80's when they closed all the mental hospitals and Asylums and made it almost impossible for relatives to have someone in the family put into mental health care, even if they know the person needs help. All I hear about lately is gun control with a brief mention of fixing the mental health system, but I doubt it will ever happen and the people who need help will continue to run amok among us...

i took a nap with both puppies in my bed! so what if i had the least room of anyone in that bed. lol. i love my dogs!

speaking of which, our new dogs foster parents came to pick up the kennel that they loaned us for clara. such nice people! i was worried that clara would freak out, but she was really happy to see them and they said that they were really happy to see how well she was doing!

anyway...they said that the area just keeps ending up with all these great pyrenees dogs all over this certain area. Dogs that are just in HORRIBLE condition. matted, extremely thin, fleas and ticks, etc. which means that there is either someone who does not have their animal fixed and just keeps spawning, or there is a backyard breeder somewhere and people are purchasing these dogs as puppies and then not realizing the amount of work that goes into a dog and just letting them loose or dropping them at the pound. it makes me so sad!

my dogs are like my kids (anyone in here knows how i am with my dogs). if you arent willing to share your home with your animal like you would any other family member DONT GET ONE. Go volunteer somewhere to get your animal fixed and then go home! poor things. okay. rant over. thank you.

I so agree Des, it breaks my heart seeing dogs or any animal not being cared for. All the animals I've ever adopted from dogs to parrots were ones considered "un-adoptable" or "hard to place" either because they were old so thrown out like a piece of trash, were abused or had a medical problem. When I adopted Copper (lab/mix), he was 12 years old. His former owners no longer wanted him because he was too old so they bought a puppy and dumped Copper at the shelter. He passed away a year ago at the age of 16 but for the four years I had him, he lived the life of a king. We really spoiled him but he deserved all the spoiling he got.

The Ravens are in the playoffs, and my bf's Steelers are not. I am a happy camper right now. On top of this Ravens are AFC North champs. Fuck yeah it's a good time to be a Ravens fan. Now for them to make the Super Bowl. If they do then I can gloat in Nathan's face. :D

I always wanted to play in one World Cup game..just one! The final..and it would have to be an easy team..so I could score a few goals!
I also always wanted to fly an F16 fighter jet..and not buzz the tower.
I've thought about going into space but I think I might puke after takeoff with all the pressure and dizzy feeling you get..so I will pass on that.

Andy Reid has been let go of by the Eagles. Bout damn time. I am curious as to who their new coach will be and what he will bring to the team. We need a breath of fresh air..
