Need opinions on this new guy

Hi Friends~



I joined Match.com last week and I have been talking to a man, Let's call him Alan.


I met him Thursday night in person and it seemed kind of ackward at first, he seemed uncomfortable, maybe nervous, didn't talk much.


But eventually he seemed to loosen up and talk more, Cool!



Since then he has sent me several messages saying that his is "thinking of me" and "misses me" etc....... I don't mind the "thinking of you" but the "I miss you" seems odd since we only spent a few hours together one time.  



When we talk on the phone it seems a bit strained.  So tonight we are on the phone and he tells me that he is having a hard time "reading" me, and that I make him feel like he is being interviewed.


(I guess he thinks I ask too many questions) but I alway ask question when I am getting to know someone (Ie....How many kids do you have?, How many marriages? etc?)  Isn't that what you do on a first date?


I have always been told that I am very fun and outgoing and converse well, this is the first time that someone has told me that I make them feel "weird".


He even made some kind of comment about me being "dry".

I don't get it?

For him to make a negative comment like that"dry" part, I would say forget him. He shouldn't be saying anything like that to you while he is first getting to know you. If he's saying stuff like that noww, what will he say later?

Omg. Red flags. Even you are pointing them out to yourself. Trust yourself and stop seeing this guy. Have you thought that online dating maybe isn't the best option for you right now? What if you took it slow and spent some time just working on yourself without jumping from guy to guy or relationship to relationship?

I texted back that we can be friends and see if it goes anywhere. He said Okay.

I am going to meet another guy Saturday for Coffee so we'll see what I think of this next dude.

You have the patience of a saint. Why can't it just be two people just taking their time to get to know each other, enjoying the process and see how it goes, instead of this pressure, and trying so hard to make something happen right out of the gate, you know??

I know it is so crazy! Like lets just go have some fun and see if anything happens!
It seems a lot of people want to jump into something super serious immediately and I have been guilty of the same thing. So that is why this time I am going to date a few people casually and see who I actually LIKE and have things in common with...etc......

OTM64, 1. Glad you are back on DS. 2. You have very interesting dating experiences ;)...Personally, maybe I have been out of the dating game too long but he just seems odd to me overall & the broke comment would be my deal breaker. (Not because he is broke, but he can ask me out when he's not broke, I dont need to know) Don't settle OTM!!!. Maybe you just need to do you for a while, I know it freed me to let go of being concerned about being in a future telationship. ♡ best best of luck!

Well ever since I said to him yesterday lets be friends and see how it goes he has scaled WAY back, doesn't text much and doesn't say he misses me or is thinking about me anymore. Ha!

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
