Healing the Child Within Community Group
This is a safe haven for victims of childhood abuse and their loved ones to share stories, sympathies, and tips for healing. Whether verbal, physical, or sexual in nature, the effects of childhood abuse can be permanently scarring. Together, though, we can find strength and solace in each other.
I was physically, emotionally, mentally abused as a child - not certain about the sexual abuse, although I cannot rule it out - too many missing memories from childhood. Abused by peers throughout public school. One abusive relationship after another. Became the abuser, and Karpman drama triangle personified. Recovering addict. Two failed marriages. A son who does not talk to me. All by the age of 44. LOL
But now, I am finally wrestling my demons - and I will love my inner child back to health. My word to her.
I am grateful that this group exists.
Thank you.
Wendy
I am new to this group. When I orginally logged into DS, it was gain more knowledge and understanding of my thoughts on my abuses. I found instead, I got scared and havent spent the time I needed to on healing.
Now is the time.... I need to be more open about me..... the child that was sexually, physically, and mentally abused from the age of 6 to 11. My abuser died in 1992....but the pain didnt die with him.
I am 35 years old.. mother of two. Married to a childhood friend.. after many years of self abusing relationships and marriages. My flashbacks are coming more often... and when they trigger, I find myself eating myself into the ground.
I am a survivor... I just want to start acting like it again!
Talk to you all later
Im Photo, im 36, i was raped by my brother and then sexually abused aged 8 onwards. I was also beaten on a daily basis by my Father. My mother told me it was all my fault.
Now i am a strong warrior woman working in the community, im in therapy and its really helping. Im making photography and loving this website.
I love cinema and art galleries. Love and light to you all.
Ashley, I'm so sorry you were abused, and dealing with depression as a result. Keep working on that healing process, though, and cultivate self-love... it may take years, but life gets better and easier and sunnier, and it is worth the struggle to get there (I promise)
Photo, I love the description you gave of yourself: "strong warrior woman". Go you! (that is what I want to be someday, too)
Debbie, I don't think anyone would call you a "dope" for marrying into the sort of abuse that you were accustommed to... it was all that you knew growing up and we do tend to stick to the familiar, even when it isn't pleasant. I'm sorry that you went through that, though, and hope that you find the support and healing that you deserve.
Wendy, congratulations on your pregnancy! And I can relate to feeling your inner child's anger. I used to go to extreme measures to silence the rageful or fearful screaming that I heard in my mind... screams that I would have done better to listen to at the time! But eventually I did listen and slowly "Little Dee" began to release some (though not all) of her anger. We are still working on letting go.
I am a 36 yr old returning college student studying criminal justice and maybe later, law. I think I want to be an international lawyer or criminal investigator with focus on sex crimes and cyber crime. I am a survivor of physical, sexual, spiritual, and emotional abuse and emotional neglect. I worked, until last month when they "let me go", in a residential placement facility for court ordered or adjudicated boys as a youth counselor/manager/teachers aide/sub teacher ( wore many hats...lol).
I enjoy reading, watching TV, including Law and Order, listening to music, hiking, biking, writing, photography, and much more.
Henry is two years old and loves little bear. He doesnt want to eat anything except mac-n-cheese.
I am expecting a little girl on December 15. I am so nervous cause I work two jobs, one as a waitress on the nightshift and one online.
I am a suvivor of incest, rape, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.
