Healing the Child Within Community Group
This is a safe haven for victims of childhood abuse and their loved ones to share stories, sympathies, and tips for healing. Whether verbal, physical, or sexual in nature, the effects of childhood abuse can be permanently scarring. Together, though, we can find strength and solace in each other.
My name is Jeanette and I was abused by my foster parent and also was raped by the man across the street. I have been also physically and mentally abused in this foster home for 23 years until I married my husband and got the hell out of New Jersey. Since therapy I am a new person. I believe in myself, take care of my inner child, comfort her and know exactly when she is hurting. She seems to be in my belly because that is where I sense her. I have great compassion for my inner child and what she went thru. I think only when I started to love the child inside me, did I finally stop hurting her by acting out with men and started standing up to those who would demean, hurt or be meanspirited to my inner child. I am the mother she never had.
I have been in therapy since 1987, and would not change a thing. I have grown tremendously. I actually came here to play. I love to have my inner child play and have fun. Thank you for this site. AS I read on a button someone in my support group had, "IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO ENJOY A HAPPY CHILDHOOD."
Recently I have battled depression and memories I had supressed from that time. I've decided to work on my issues, and stop burying them.

My mother died before I was two years old. I suffered sexual/physical/
mental abuse at the hands of my father. Right now, I am going through
a pretty severe depression. My inner child is very sad. My main
diagnosis is PTSD. Major depression, social phobia, agoraphobia;
and anxiety disorders are all put under the one umbrella of PTSD-------
as most of my issues are in trying to recover from my abuse. Hope to
meet others on this site that I can help and support; and maybe they
can return the favor.
Presently I am writing a book about my life with DID, and hope to have that published within a year. I have over 42 chapters completed. Writing and raising my neice are my life.
