By adding the quote above in your reply, aren't you simply pointing out that child sexual abuse was taboo for millennium and now sexual abuse via internet has arrived and so the taboo (which was long ago made into laws against in-person child sexual abuse) have been extended to include internet abuse of children (CP that poses real children for the "viewing pleasure" of the same people who before might have had to confine themselves to enjoying/ seeing/doing Child sexual abuse in person before ?) And whose to say are only doing one or the other? The Taboo existed long before laws were "invented" to express legal sanctions for breaking the taboo.
Taboo and illegal are 2 different things. To some people anything can be 'taboo' even today. Eating meat is taboo for some.
if you look at your bible you'll see men giving their young daughter to strangers.. .
taboo for 1000 years or not. . . I still don't know what you think child sexual abuse is. As far as I've seen in your posts .. my son accidentally downloading or even watching 3 seconds of one paints him as a child sex abuser.
Be clear, be correct and stop complaining when someone responds to your post. I'm not sure if you're here to be on the side of the RSO or the other at this point.
In the majority of the world Adults preventing child abuse should start looking in the home at their parents and relatives because they're the ones who are usually doing it. Not people like my son.
If this thread is not satisfying for you , no one is stopping you from posting.
Sitting on a head of a pin? What does that even mean?
The definition of what is 'right' vs what is considered 'criminal behavior' is all dependent on the era in which we speak in. It was common practice to marry off 13 and 14 yr old girls to 30-40 yr old men because it was about being able to support the female in that relationship, because females had no standing in society at the time. That was considered the correct way to do things by law and by the bible. There was also the consideration of lifespan and child bearing ages and abilities. Both of which were far shorter than they are now.
Religion was used not to give people faith or something to cling to for hope as it is used much of the time now, but for control of the masses. To keep people from bearing children out of wedlock, to keep other population issues in check. To keep STD type diseases from spreading (syphilis being one of the biggies that killed all sorts of people).
I don't think anyone here believes that it is justified behavior to molest another because they were molested. I believe the perpetuation of the "shit rolling downhill" is not the responsibility of the offenders and victims which in many cases are one in the same, but of those of us that were never touched at all. WE are supposed to be the ones with the clear head, the ones with the objective point of view, yet we all practice this....
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Because they will come for the rest of us...
It is us the friends and family that need to do the work... yet I don't see the state groups overflowing with those friends and family helping to change things, but I do see a lot of offenders trying to make a difference with their necks out there waiting to be slit by the next valigator.
Because it is us that hold the power, the power to vote and vote out all incumbants, the power to put pressure on local communities that try to enact residency restrictions, the power to boycott businesses that won't hire or help offenders that need a job... We have power, yet most never even think about using it.
I said what i said and I mean't it just like you interpreted it. You can have your opinions, in fact, how many times now have I said that?? However, no, you can't criticize some one for their motivations unless you've been there, sorry, but that's just how it is.
Example one; Rew talks about his experience in prison and sometimes I may have a different opinion about things he says, I say nothing, I've never been to prison so I am in no position to challenge his experiences, and do not dispute him.
Example two; I was talking with a co worker about life in the Service, he is a Vietnam and Desert Storm Vet, and I am a Desert Storm Vet. This 'person'(lazy and worthless) inserted himself into our conversation saying, "I know about Military life because my Grandfather and Uncle were in the Army". Both of us at the EXACT same time said, "No, you don't, go away".
Remember, until 4 months ago, I was an RSO too. Unlike you, unlike Advocate, I can speak from experience on both sides.
(If you doubt my RSO bonifides, I gave Advocate my RSO info a couple of years ago).
It is the mothers and the mothers only that can convey their feelings of having a son in prison or dealing with the sex offender registry. Nobody can truly understand until the child they carried in the womb for nine months is now involved in this situation. Ditto for the wives and girlfriends. I cannot imagine what some of them are going through, and some have a situation in which the victim is the granddaughter and the alleged offender is the son. Now that is one of the toughest dilemmas that I could ever think of.
I have never had a loved one on the registry, certainly not someone like a son or husband, so while I know there must be a lot of emotional pain, I cannot even begin to know how they feel.
Westy was a policewoman. She understands the stresses and all the problems of being in LE. She brings her knowledge to the table. She surely has an insight that most of use could never understand.
Coastie was in a form of law enforcement and was also once a registrant. Aladdin is extremely well versed in the laws regarding sex offenders, much more so than many attorneys. I know about prisons and I speak about it as I know some of the sons and husbands here will be going to prison some day.
Wisconsin speaks of her experiences as a wife of a former inmate and a registrant.
I know I am leaving someone out. I could not even name the number of people on this very board that I have spoken to over the last three years. I could go on and on and name dozens of posters who bring something special to the board.
Everyone is important here on this board and nobody is more important than anyone else..
But the main point is that while we may be different and see things from a different point of view because of our life's experiences, we all can learn from each other.
Nobody knows everything about all things. We need each other in this fight. We are much stronger when we pull together.
Just a few thoughts.

PS BTW, I see that we are very close to 100 posts on this thread. I hope someone else comes along and pushes us over the 100 mark.
You people deserve more thanks than you get but I am one who benefits from your insight and would suffer from your lack of participation. So please hang in there and continue.... I know that I benefit from your insight!
I can say now, that he'll never talk to them again without an attorney present, period.
