LOL, Raymh!
It's hard to explain a lot of things but when something like this happens, don't question it and take it for all its worth! Good for you!
I think it's because of the new plan you're on. Stick to it and you will lose the weight. Your body sometimes needs a few days to get adjusted to the new way of eating and then when it realizes that you are not starving it, it will shed the weight.
Enjoy it but don't take it for granted!
Simba, same reasonings apply to you as well. Your body was giving you a sneak peak as to what it would feel like to be in the 160's and your brain wants to keep you motivated! LOL
Don't worry. You've already beaten the plateau. You will get there. In fact, I predict the next time you post your weight, you will be around 165 lbs!
Keep going.....just remember the compliments at the wedding! Imagine what they would say when you see them again and you keep shrinking!
I'm so proud of you girls. We are in this together and we can beat it.
Raymh.... I like your reasoning about the weight goal I should achieve. It was so hard just to lose the 2lbs all the time to get to 140! I don't know if I can do it again!
But I will. I'm liking the weight of 135 right now. I think I should get there first and then reassess it.
It's hard when you're not quite on the bandwagon totally. I'm trying to be good but I've been eating cake for the last three days. My daughter won one at the fundraiser and we are definitely enjoying it.
Also, I find it hard to jump on the bandwagon again when it's the weekend. I will do it tomorrow!
I'm having homemade pizza (veggie) tonight. I want some nice gooey cheese... it's wet and raining and I just came in from putting grass seed and compost and fertilizer on my front yard! Yeah. I'm the crazy one you see in the neighbourhood who likes to do these things in the rain! It's such a rewarding experience and I feel grounded by it. I love it.
Anyways, I came inside and had a shower. I feel all nice and cozy right now. I've got all the prep work done for the pizza and I want to curl up and watch a movie while we eat it. It's just one of those days.
I hope i am not in too much pain tomorrow from all the yard work. But hey, it was my exercise!
@shy-- wow, it sounds fantastic, rain, grass, home made pizza, wao..........
@simba- i too hopeto see u at 165 soon
29 april 2013- 87 kg, gained 100 gms, despite walking 4 km and skipping last night's dinner and being good
now i have got it, my body is retaining water when it loses weight, that's why i don't see scale moving down, infact it shows up manyatimes and when i eat anyday, it gets to know that it will get food and then it throws away retained water and suddenly scale moves down paradoxically
body i have got u now
April 29
Day 1.... again. This is it. I've been too lax and having too much cheat foods.... and enjoying them! But I need to get back on track.
My weight is still the same so i still have 1.5 lbs to lose to reach 140.
So..... technically...I have 6.5 lbs to lose if I want to get to 135.
Agh.
Here we go again. But it was a nice ride :)
I'm going to consume at least 4 glasses of water today and do some more raking of top soil and compost into my grass (in the front yard only). This will get my body moving!
I will also so some laundry and ironing right away to keep on top of the never ending duties. If I let this go, I could have a pile of clothes just sitting around and only iron what we need and the pile never goes away! I finally got away from that and I need to keep up. This is my plan for the day or the next few days.
I will also measure and weight my food and eat from ALL the food groups.
I will avoid the temptation of grabbing some nice salty snack and let my day pass as it usually did.
I may try and get in some green tea. I used to drink it a lot but, since I've increased my water intake, I don't have the time to drink my tea anymore.
This is it.
Raymh... That's a very interesting article and it was a good read. It makes a lot of sense. I believe that I also went through phases like that.
Thanks for sharing it.
Good luck girls. Let see what the scales bring tomorrow.
Let's all be good. Let's not cheat unless we find ourselves in a predicament (social; no time to cook supper)
Great article Raymh. I found another interesting article on belly fat loss at the muscleforlife website. Thanks for sharing!
Shy, I love gardening too (I'm a newbie) ! Haven't got started yet as the weather is too unpredictable, plus we may be moving soon. The house we are looking to buy has nice garden beds...can't wait to dig in!
Well, I weighed in today at 169.4 lbs. My goal is to be at 155 lbs by July 1st. That means I have to lose close to 2 lbs a week...it will be hard but I am going to try my best!
yesterday i tried "REFEEDING MY BODY " and take away pressure of excercise, so i didn't work out and ate pulao and chocolate bar (just 0ne small) i went to mall yeterday and had to walk or stand constantly 2-3 hrs, i had decided not to eat at night but i ate one big bowl of left over pulao ,and can u believe today i weigh 88.5kg, a whole 1.5 kg up in just one day, surely i had not ate that much and i walked too
my body has gone crazy by my efforts of weight loss
i think that i should try a diuretic tablet today, because i am getting insane now
Hmmm....
I know how you feel Raymh. I also went up 0.5 lbs. I now have to lose 2.0 lbs just to get to 140.
I'll be honest. I didn't eat from all food groups and overate on some. It's totally my fault.
I did drink the 4 glasses of water and did do the gardening and ironing.
It's a wake up call.
Today I started this 7 day detox thing. My DH bought me a kit several months ago and i never did it. I figured that he paid for it so i had better use it before it's expiration date. It gives you a very specific food journal that you have to follow. I'm going to take the 4 pills before breakfast and 4 pills before lunch but eat in MY way.
I hate taking pills. I also had to take my iron pill!
It's noon and I've taken 9 pills altogether. I've already drank 3 cups of tea (orange pekoe) and 4 glasses of water!
... I can't even tell you how many times I've been to the bathroom! lol
Simba: That's fantastic news... I know you will make your target. 2 lbs loss is a good average for weight loss.
The weather here is unpredictable as well but I'm just a little too eager! I've only been working on getting some grass growing in my front yard. Last year we noticed that we didn't have grass at our new home but, rather, a field of weeds. I worked so hard at getting grass last year and am pleased that it is green out there. I spent a whole day pulling out weeds and I just wanted to get some grass seed on it so that I can hopefully get a thick lawn. It's hard work.
I also wanted to take advantage of the 'free' water falling from the sky!
My body is sore today... from all the raking and pulling of the weeds. Not to mention the standing around as I've been ironing all day (sporadically).
Today I hope to continue with the ironing and laundry. I've already washed two loads and am waiting for one load to finish drying.
... then I have to put the clothes away! I've got little piles started for the different members of the family!
I also hope to get some house cleaning done OR mow the lawn in the backyard. It's one or the other. I can't do both. But both need to get done. Whatever I don't do today, I will do tomorrow!
This is going to be my form of exercise for today and I AM going to eat properly as well. That cake can just sit there for all I care. Funny. I don't even really like cake. I much prefer salty snacks.
Okay so...
I finished my laundry and my ironing (I had so much because I didn't do anything when the company was around).
I got in ALL my foods and managed to weight and measure it. I had to take a guess at one of the items I ate.
The result is that i lost one pound!
Current weight: 141.0
Goal weight:
One pound to go
I didn't end up doing the lawn or housecleaning. I'll be doing the lawn today... in fact, as soon as I finish my breakfast.
Current weight: 140.5
Goal weight: 140.0
0.5 lbs to go
Yipee!!!!
BTW, I drank 9 glasses of water yesterday as I was in the sun for most of the day! I spent a total of 6 hours picking weeds from my back yard... crazy eh? Two hours in the am, stopped for lunch, two hours in the pm and stopped for a long break. I need to get supper ready and give my hand/muscles a rest! I was so sore! But that didn't stop me.... I spend two hours in the evening picking more! I was extremely sore all evening and night. I slept soundly but woke up all stiff and sore.....
Yup.... you guessed it..... I'm going out again after breakfast. I've got 1/3 of the yard still to do.
I moved into a newer house almost two years ago and realized that we have nothing but weeds growing in our lawn. I spent the better part of the spring and fall reseeding and pulling weeds (especially in the front yard).
I've already pulled the weeds from the front last week and the yard is looking good. I have to keep on top of it. I've also reseeded. AT least I have grass now. So...... I thought to just leave the backyard for the fall or next year but, something told me to just start in one area and al least get a handle on those weeds. Before I knew it, I decided to just go with it and pull out as much as I can. So now I'm pulling them all! I already have three large yard waste bags filled! They are so heavy! I need DH to help me get them into the car and off to the dump!
@Raymh. Sometimes it takes a few days to show the results of our efforts. The diuretic may also take a couple of days to show. I'm not familiar with them and don't know how they work.
I hope that you are still following that eating plan. I really liked it. Just be patient and you will see the weight coming off. Eat what you should and get in your calories... the weight will come off. It will happen overnight (as you already witnessed) or it can stay the same for a few days. Then, all of sudden it will come off. JUST STICK WITH IT. I have a feeling that THIS will work. After all, it allows you the freedom to eat the things that you want and it's convenient because you don't have to count the calories! It lists the food. It's a no-brainer.
Just stick to it. Don't do the diuretic for a bit now. Do that plan. You were posting a consistent weight loss. Slow and steady wins the race.... remember that.
Literally take what I did the day before and apply it again to yesterday!
Am I crazy?
I've spent 12 hours pulling out weeds in two days. I'm sore, stiff and all I see are weeds, in my mind's eye! AND when I was walking around the property I saw at least seven that I somehow missed! There are so many..... it was impossible to get them all. But, hopefully all this effort will not be futile!
I did use some of that time to cut the edges of my property and to refresh the dirt around one tree. Today, when the dew finally evaporates, I will finally go out and cut the grass. It is so long. I wonder how many yard waste bags I'm going to fill? I already have 5 (maybe 6) bags filled with weeds! That's how many I had! The bags are extremely heavy. I'll probably get around three bags of grass clippings. I hope my minivan can handle all these bags. I only want to make one trip to the dump
Anyways.... I'm rambling.
I dropped another .5 lb! Yay! I am back to 140.0 lbs ..... my goal!!!!! It's such an awesome feeling to know that I can do it if I set my mind to it.
@Simba: I hope you're down this week by a few pounds. And if you're still the same, that's fine too. You have to celebrate that fact that you can maintain your weight without gaining.
@Raymh: I don't know if you had a chance to read my advice from yesterday. I do hope that you are following that plan. It seems so close to what I do and look at my results! They speak for themselves!
Please follow it.... it sounds too good.
This week has been a good week as far as exercise. I've managed to walk everyday for an hour or more. I weighed in yesterday at 170.4 lbs. I am afraid to step on the scale today because I have not been regular for 2 days. I have a history with constipation. Fish oil capsules usually help, but I ran out. I did get a chance to buy some yesterday so hopefully I will have some relief! I will weigh myself tomorrow morning.
@Shy, Congrats on your weight loss! I knew you would lose it in no time!
@Raymh, I hope all is well with you and your still sticking with your eating plan.
@SHY-- u r right dear, i will stick to the plan and for a while i will avoid going out so that i be consistent and then i will see what happens
3rd may 2013- 88 kg
in april i lost 2.3 kg, not good but not that bad too, at least i lost some, and even on this slow rate a person can lose approx 25 kgs in an year, so i also hope that my efforts will slowly make me slimmer
@simba- i think u r too retaining water, i will give u a tip, do a lot of excercise and dieting for two days and after that eat something sweet, ur body will leave the water and u will get swoosh effect
I'm still asleep...
I had to get up at this God forsaken hour to take my DD2 to an event. I feel like a zombie....
She has to be there in 6 minutes and she's still running around upstairs getting ready and trying to be quite as to not wake up DD1, DS and DH.
So...
i don't usually weight myself this early but the scales are showing 140.0 lbs! Yay. I wonder if I wait another 1/2 hour and weigh myself... would the results be different? Hmmmm....
I couldn't eat all my required foods yesterday. I still had to consume some more dairy. And I didn't drink as much water as i had been doing the previous days. If I had done all that, I might be a little less today.
but sometimes it's just too much food to consume.
@Simba: Thanks!
I hope things improve with the fish oil and if there is a great loss, please post it. I would love to know. Good luck with everything this week
@Raymh; I'm glad that you are going to follow the plan. Just be strict and follow it for at least 5-7 days and you will see the difference. Then you will not want to falter and go off the plan.. You will lose the weight.
Yippee!! I dropped 0.5 lbs!
i'm not sure about my goal weight yet but I'll take things as they come.
Current weight: 139.5
Goal: ??????? ( -0.5 from 140.0)
It was a crazy busy day yesterday and I ended up eating more than I should have for certain food groups. I think it was all those hard chores I was doing that compensated for the extra calories! I don't know, but I'll take it.
How are you guys doing?
@Simba: Did you manage to get the fish oil? Did you weigh yourself?
@Raymh: Are you following the diet plan? I hope so. Stick with it and you'll see. SLOW AND STEADY..... always remember that. You cannot get instant results. You have to work for it. That's what makes you appreciate it even more because your hard work will start to show.
