I have never been more grateful for a snow day in my life, after I heard about this I was able to immediately hug my kids. So much empathy for the suffering parents. so much grief for them.

I hadn't heard; how awful. It just makes you feel sick and scared for where humanity is heading.

I have been watching the coverage since it came on.. this is unbelievably tragic. It's almost too hard to even comprehend and I don't know how anyone will ever be able to understand this . My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and wounded and the teachers and children and parents and the police force and EVERYONE who will be affected by this horrible tragedy. It is beyond heartbreaking.

These. are childern My heart breaks for the famies, I can't understand how anybody could kill a child whoever did this did not have a heart and did not care. who they hurt

I dont understand how someone could do this. Most of the kids that were killed were from a kindergarten class. I can't even begin to imagine the horror. Im so heartbroken for them, the other children and the families :(

Just heard that the Shooter Name is Ryan Lanza And that his mother worked at the school Some of the childern that were Killed were some of her students

This is so awful. I don't not know why it is more important for hillbillies to have their guns instead of the US protecting its citizens. This country is so backwards.

May the thoughts and prayers be with those families!! How could someone do such a thing! Those are innocent children... They did nothing wrong! I heard he took his own life afterward! Really you're going to shoot those kids and adults and not leave behind an answer as to what drove you to such extremes! I would take my own life before anyone else's!! I hope those families have a strong support system! They're going to need it and I hope the other little ones can get some counseling! They'll never forget that day! And shame on the shooter for putting them through such things!

that is an ignorant analogy BY, even though "gun free" zones create a nice safe place for a sick person to do this, it's the sickness , not the gun to blame

Maybe we simply need marshals in schools just like they have at airports and planes to protect us from terrorism. I don't care if the guy comes from the back roots of kentucky or not....I want someone with the ability to protect my kid in school against sick people like this. If someone is determined to do damage....they are going to find a way to do it.....it doesn't matter what laws are in place. Sadly they will find the means to do it :-(

I know I would feel better with a trained and armed security guard at my kids school, but I wouldn't want them to have anything to do with disciplining the students or even interact with them

unless they had a weapon and were trying or threatening to use it, but it opens a whole new area of shit to happen too i guess

Fact is there is less violence in countries where there isn't easy access to guns. You do the math.
