Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
So I got no help at all .
You can maybe say something like, "Okay, mom, if you won't help me & dr. won't help me, then at least let me go to church. " If she says no way, then tell her something like - "Okay, mom, how about this - if you take me to church then I'll stop cutting." Now, I know it isn't that easy, but if that will get her to agree, then it's a step in the right direction. It's worth a shot.
Part of the reason you might do this(just a guess, here) may be because you want a certain level of control. You don't like the fact that your mom is controlling your life so much, and this cutting thing is the only time you feel in control of something. Well, you can gain even more control by making the decision to stop doing it. Then you'll really gain control of your life, and in time you will earn the right to drive again, and other things.
I just went to my library to take out some self help books the only issue is I have so little faith in me getting better I don't know
If I can successfully read them :(
Plus I had to have my mom come with me because I felt like I was going to drive to the train if I went alone ::(
When is this going to stop ?
