Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I'm managing to keep it very simple because I've been doing well and anything can set me off... just standing a bit too long. So I' m trying to be extra careful since emotions run high at this time of year and that's when the pain can easily escalate. Today is not so good but there's always tomorrow.
Take care of your needs and be well!

So looking forward to spending Christmas with my kids and grand kids this year. The grand kids are getting a kareoke machine from Nana & Pop and some fun silly music. I can't wait, we're gonna have so much fun!
God bless my DS friends, so many of you have helped me deal with my illnesses, and many of the frustrations that go along with chronic pain, especially with my attitude. You have definately helped make my life a little bit easier. I'm forever grateful!

I drove down there (about 10 miles) only to find that he wouldn't even be going in for the procedure for another 45 minutes or so. There's a winter weather advisory and all the schools have been let out early because of freezing rain. It had already started when I went down to get the ex.
Now...I'm waiting for a phone all from the receptionist when he's about a half hour from being ready to leave. Meanwhile, the roads have become pretty scary and I haven't dared take my usual amount of meds.
I'm starting to think this is above the call of duty for a former wife!!!
Mark......that's terrible, what that teacher said. I'd report him/her. I'm sorry it's taking a toll on your family.
It's great to see everyone here. We are here for each other and I have a feeling of support for all.
My pain, for some reason has been waking me up for the last week at around 3:00 AM. I get back to sleep, but it's getting old. I'll mention it to my PM doc next month.
I'm doing pretty good, but the bad sleep is catching up to me.
I hope everyone has a low pain day.
Hugs,

My back has flared up in the last couple of days and I'm worried about going to my mother's for Xmas in this state. She doesn't "get" weakness and gets upset when I can't do things. I have managed to hide from her how actually disabled I am but if I'm with her for 2 days, it will be really hard to keep it up. I don't want to worry her but I also don't want to be scoffed at and I don't want to escalate the pain by ignoring it either.
Christmas has always been a difficult and dramatic time in my family . I just want it to be over.
Sorry for the lack of Xmas cheer. not feeling very cheerful today.

I am in the midst of packing my bags to travel to see my son, new daughter-in-law, and two precious five year old grand daughters for Christmas. I have not seen my only son since he returned home from his tour of duty in Iraq. So this will be a special reunion for all of us. My sister gave me this trip as my Christmas gift and I am so grateful to her. It means the world to me to be able to see my son and the rest of his family. I can't wait to spend quality time with my grand daughters. What a blessing this is! Thank you dear sister for making it happen! I'm wishing all of you a Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Hugs to all, Cathy
You are such a kind person, Cathy, you deserve this break with your son and granddaughters.
Hang in there the rest of you who are suffering or sad. For those of you who have trouble on the holidays, don't believe the commerical hype. It is just meant to pry dollars from your pocket and these days will pass. Remember, someone loves you and we are here for you and that is the real quality that stays consistant. Somebody always loves you and thinks you are great.
I kicked my hubby out 3 days ago for domestic violence. Today is easier than yesterday. Everyone around me says it is I that wrecked Xmas. My sons think I'm great. It's all in perspective. Look at your life from a different perspective and see your flowers bloom.
Merry christmas to you all.

I have worked beyond my limit today and now I'm sitting with a fresh cup of coffee...trying to convince myself to get in a cold car and go do the damned errands I need to do!!!
I found a message on my cell after I finished work and it has me pretty excited. My clinic called to say that (after 3 weeks) Voltaren Gel has been approved!!!!! The NP I saw on Tuesday said she was quite sure Medicaid wouldn't pay for it...harrumph to her! I hope it does something for me. I could sure use it now.
I Still have baking and wrapping to do, but I'm heading to the drug store first!!!
If you're just checking things out, stop in and post here.
There are very special, caring folks here.
Big Hugs,
David. aka, dmaspord.
