What do women want?

I have always wondered why goes through a woman's mind. I mean, I really don't think that most men understand how to make them happy. A man can be happy with a few simple things in life...sex, food, beer and t.v. Women seem to be a little more complicated than this, though. So, my question is what do women want? And for the men, what did you think they wanted, but later realized wasn't actually the case? I'm at a point of trying to find myself right now. I'm headed back into the desert soon, to explore my mind a little more...

I tried like hell to be all those tings and here I am. There is no "what women want" or "what men want." Only what individual's want. And unless we are willing to tell each other what we want (and sometimes repeat ourselves) we'll never get it.

Whats wrong with just being best friends first. Shouldn't everything stem from there. Everything else seems so divided. He/she wants/needs. How does that work?

Someone who treated me with respect and thoughtfulness
Someone who appreciated me and didn't take me for granted
Someone a little bit chivalrous and knew what the words Please & Thank You were for
Someone intelligent and motivated
Someone who makes family a priority
Someone who believed in "date night"
Someone who had a childlike side, without immaturity
Someone who saw the joy in life

That's a good portion of the list, and I got lucky...I found him.

Listening is HUGE! We talk so much about communication, I think people look at that as talking, but listening is sooo important, and if you listen, you'll know more about that person, what they are like, and what they are looking for.

Don't just listen, but really hear.
