living like that is so hard and I'm afraid of being alone as well. I have our children here, but they will be moving on. Now he wants 50-50 time now with our youngest. Spend time on you and people that will love you back. Hugs & hope for you to be strong.
She said she agrees, took off the ring and said she will try to move out ASAP. I guess I finally reached my breaking point. Enough is enough.
He left and that doesn't mean he can float in when his schedule allows. Its not to hurt my kids or keep him from them either. Just that choices have consequences. He looks like the man I married, but the kind trusting soul inside him is gone.actions speak louder than words, hopefully she will have decency to move out quickly and not play games. Loneliness is better than being used.
Thank you all again for all the support and for sharing your experiences. You guys have helped more than I can even say. I probably would endure a lot more of her crap and would continue to hold on to false hope for who knows how long. Thanks again for helping me see sooner what was eventually going to happen anyway.
That was two and half years ago. For all but three months of two and a half years, I have been single. This is a huge time of change in your life, but once you settle into it, you'll realize that being single/alone is SO much better than hanging onto a relationship that's already over, or being with someone that you don't find truly fulfilling.
People of all ages have the fears you have shared. My best friend is 30 and has already practically given up on marriage, children, and men in general. A direct quote was, "I never thought when I was younger that my life would turn out this way." Meanwhile, she's got great friends, plenty of money, wonderful family, etc. etc. etc. Your romantic life is not over at 44 years old. I'm 29 and went on a couple dates with a 44 year old last year. There are plenty of women, younger, your age, and older than you, that I'm sure would love to date you, when you're ready. The most important part of this whole thing is going through this journey, not alone, but with your friends and family, who will be there for you to lean on when you need them. Take up new hobbies, get involved in the community, don't turn down your friends when they want you to get out of the house (I would just tell them to stop trying to entice you with girls, though. That seems totally counter-productive, and kinda rude).
This is just a new chapter in the book of your life, and you can write literally anything you want. There will be difficult times, but it's all in how you deal with it. Good luck to you!
Friends and family, being free to do what you want, when you want, with whom you want, for me is the way to go.
It is pretty obvious, at least one person out of 2 saying the wedding vows are providing lip service, and as soon as things are not perfect they bail. This makes me so sad that people trade spouses like they trade baseball cards. I am wondering why anybody gets married any more. Its to hard and time consuming to get a divorce.
