I was driving home from the airport a few weeks ago. I had just returned from my 6 weeks of hell; trying to save my Mom from cancer and later dealing with her estate after those efforts failed. Be it God, or karma, or what, just as I pulled in the driveway a song came on the radio and I just lost it crying. It was 'You and me Against the World', by Helen Reddy. I had never even heard (or heard of) this song before. Talk about hitting home (its about a single mother and only child). Still cant get over the timing. So do any of you have a special song that hits home with respect to your loss like that?

My special song I found after my son passed away is Slipped Away by Avril Lavigne. Another song that really hit home for me was Brad Paisley's Who you'de Be.

I cry almost every time i hear a Faith Evans P Diddy song, Missing you. I heard it the day my nephew was killed in a car accident.

I lost my dad August 15, 2008...I find myself angry over othe issues in my life that I defocus from the grief I am feeling

Morgan and I use to sing a song to each other; More, by Matthew West. "I love you more than the sun and the stars that are taught how to shine, you are mine...." It's 'our song". There is another song that I listen to when i need a good "cleansing" cry; Homesick by Merce Me. It speaks from my heart of how my I miss my sweetness.

Yes it happened to me right after my husband passed.I had not been in the car for about ten days and when I got in and started it the song unchained melody came on.I believe it is a way for our loved ones to let us know they are ok and still with us.This is the song my husband wanted played at his memorial.I love Helen Redding and if you listen to the whole song again you will see the message from your mom.They have a place on the web where you can get the words to songs.So sorry for your loss.Bertie

My daughter suffered a seizure which triggered the diagnosis of brain tumor on the day we picked her up from Walt Disneyworld after spending a college semester in their college program. Her major was Fashion Merchandising so she interned under buyers throughout the "world" and took classes from executives in the field at Disneyworld. She lived in Snow White Campground with other college kids in the program. She made many new friends, learned a lot, and was totally hyped up by the Walt Disney story. She was so excited that morning, could barely keep her seat on the bench in the Florida sunshine as she related the results of her final review in the program. The next morning her life, and ours, changed forever. Within a week they were wheeling her into surgery as I leaned over and whispered in her ear: "when you wish upon a start, your dreams come true". She died 8 years later after fulfilling dreams of marriage and a child which they said would never be possible. Throughout everything, her attitude was so positive! It's 17 years since her death and I still cannot say the words or hear the song without crying. Dreams did come true for her but not all of them.

The song "Breathe" It isn't so much about the rest of the song as the "Just Breathe" phrase. Every time I hear it, it reminds me that that's all I have to do right now.

And the song "I Want to Know What Love Is" by Foreigner. Mike said that's what I did for him and he wanted it to be our wedding song.

Okay, now you made me cry!

The day my Nephew died my boyfriend and I were driving up to the hospital to meet his mom and stepfather. And Carrie Underwood's "Just a Dream" came on the radio. It had just been released and the chorus is this:
"Baby, why'd you leave me, why'd you have to go, I was counting on forever, now I'll never know,
I cant even breathe
It's like I'm, looking from a distance, standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now, This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream"
I only think if him when this song comes on.
His mom also found a song that we used at his burrial, Avril Lavigne's Slipped Away. I listen to that song just about everyday.

I have a few songs, because I have used them in the "healing" process after my Grandma died... "Holes in the floor of Heaven". "How can I help you to say goodbye." and "Lamb of God."

John sang and played in a band and alot of the songs he sang will make me pull over if driving or cry my eyes out anywhere,our song was KEEP ME IN YOUR HEART BY WARREN ZEVON,also LET IT BE really hits hard
