You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

I'm following Sam's (confidenticandoit) advice and literally just sitting on my hand when I'm at the computer, pretty much the only place I pull. Sadly, I'm on the computer 8 plus hours a day, thanks to my job.
I'm also following the unspoken rule of NOT TOUCHING MY HAIR or head in any circumstance.
If I make it through the end of the day, it will be my third day pull free. It will also be the first totally pull free day I've had at the office all year.

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

I know, there are some bosses that I picture with bald hair, underwear over their eyes, and it makes it easier to be professional around them!
I am on the road traveling next week so that will either make it really easy for me to not pull (no computer time) or it will be stressful and I will be tempted. If I am in situations where I am feeling a really strong emotion (boredom, stress, depression, etc) its like that much harder to not pull in order to comfort myself.
Gotta keep my hand down.
Have to say so far my biggest problem is keeping myself from absent mindedly running my hands through my hair.
I think the most important thing is to stay aware. Write a little reminder on your hand perhaps.
Yesterday I had an Oh Shit moment when I was browsing podcasts to download and I felt overwhelmed by the choices and my hand automatically went to my head. But I made myself aware and put it down.
Today I had a huge Oh Shit moment when I realized I lost my bank card ANNNND I am on the road so replacing it is gonna be HARD and I hope I don't run out of cash before I can get home and pick up the new one. I had such a strong urge to touch my hair when I had that first panicked realization that my card was GONE. But I did NOT touch my hair.
I did bite off my thumbnail this evening though. Boo.
So that was Monday and that was the end of day 10.
Good on you for not pulling when you realised you had lost your bank card. Success!
And 12 days is fantastic! I think once you reach about 10, it gets easier. You're almost at 2 weeks. Keep up the awesomeness! :)
I bit down four out of five nails on my left hand but we will just have to worry about that later.
