Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello all,
Has anyone else been feeling more anxious this past week or two? I feel like my whole system is out of wack and I just feel like I'm on the verge of something terrible happening when I have no evidence of such a thing happening. Is that just distorted thoughts and forecasting going on? I was starting to feel better, getting into some coloring with my new color pencil set and trying my hand at drawing as of late on one hand and doing nothing on the other. I just don't understand this anxiety at all.
Do You? Have You gained any insights into overcoming all this and getting on with what you CAN do while you have all this time? I feel like I'm having to work so hard to get myself going lately where I was getting along and picking up more fun things to do a few weeks ago. It's like one step forward and two steps back with this anxiety thing. So frustrating.
I did manage to get cleaned up and cut my hair today after deciding my priority today had to be a little self-care and some TLC. It feels so good to have my hair shorter now with all the heat of Summer starting this weekend.
I wish you all Peace & Joy during this strange time!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
You are already doing most everything I know to do about it.
Healing hopes for all. No exceptions.
It's so good to hear from you again. Yes, I believe anxiety is contagious too. But while we are all struggling with this virus along with whatever was going on before it started I'm assuming there's a lot of us struggling and more susceptible to anxieties distorted thoughts. Wouldn't you think?
Oh my goodness, ever-changing marshall laws would be enough to drive up one's raw nerves and anxieties. Take good care with that and make time for good thoughts for the present and hopes for the future.
Thanks, It's good to hear that I'm trying everything I can to do handle all this anxiety. It's not easy for sure.

Personally, I think anxiety over rapid cycling marshal laws is proof that you are paying attention, buttttttaaaaaaa. . . for now I'm writing that off as my own hyper-vigilance and paranoia. Trying to, at least. . . Giving ^it^ the ol' patriotic try?
The theory which holds anxiety as a hard-wired part of our survival instincts --the piece which makes it possible for us to react to danger with hormonally enhanced speed and strength-- goes a step further and calls dissociation the compassion piece of the survival instinct. It be the piece which allows us to evade at least part of the pain of being eaten alive, etc.
Knowing what you want to feel is part of finding your level moment.
It changes, and doing the even breathing is the one way that works to keep me in the moment.
The coloring is beautiful! I say use anything and everything that helps you feel calmer in the moment is worth doing.
This is similar to how I feel when I’m about to do something intimidating like a job interview or speak in front of a crowd, but when that’s over it goes away.
But now it’s like my body is in constant fight or flight mode for no reason.
Does any supplements help anyone?
I too have been experiencing a sense of increased anxiety over the past weeks. With all that is going on in this world and an attempt of maintaining my regular life, I have been feeling more pressure when doing things. I start out wanting to challenge and overcome things that I set out to do, but end up talking myself out of it or become tired and go to bed. I really like your lighthouse and I think I might start painting again, which has helped me be more creative and proactive.
Sounds like me too. It's tiring getting outside anymore. I just stay inside and stay safe. I'm trying to get on with my new inside life and forget what I used to do before this horrid virus took hold.
I'm so glad my lighthouse color page has inspired you to take up painting again. That will be a great release. I'd love to see a picture of your paintings if you care to share later :D
Stay Safe and Be Well,
