Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

he had 5 days of aza before CLAG too. He also had a DLI of 5 million cells while in -patient for fever, which I thought wAs interesting, but that's over twice the amount of the last cells he got in May. Please Pray that they work!!!!
His counts started to recover and wbc quickly climbed to over 5k past week, with 2500 nutes. plates and heme lagging a bit behind but Picc line was pulled last week too.
Today (7/27) we have labs and a biopsy to check for remission, plus chimerism.
We're so nervous when about these results, if they are good then aza for some time as maintenance
If the results are less than remission we have to go to transplant.
I'm due 9/15, csect is scheduled...please pray for us

Fish and Karyotype are 100% normal cells, no inversion 16 detected=Complete molecular remission! we're very relieved, but cautiously so. we requested PCR testing (which this hospital does not usually do) and we did send in the sample because it's much more sensitive however they could not run the sample and so they did not give us any results on it.
PCR can find one cell in 10,000 fish can find one or 100 so were hoping for PCR to Monitor for mrd.
Chimerism is >95% both lines. The call it full donor. The Plan is that He' will be doing Aza chemo shots as maintenance moving forward for now 5 days in a row every month, maybe for 6 months...
Praying for you guys everyday!!!

I am so happy to read this, I just flew home tonight from Chicago and was thinking and praying for you guys so much. I hope they can do the PCR just to put your mind at ease but sounds like Tony is moving in the right direction. Now Julie's right you need to get some rest :)
