Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

I know during consolidation Tony's counts always came back quickly where I had the opposite experience. I'm praying that counts being hit is a positive sign that chemo is doing it's job. Praying for success and no Bmb

Thinking of you guys today and I hope Tony's counts come up enough. I was also wondering what did the doctors think of the rash or redness he was experiencing? Is He having any GVHD since the DLI?
You are both always on my mind.
Margaret
I'm praying that today's labs are high enough so Tony can get on with more chemo. Please give us an update.
Blessings & XOXO

Woke up with you and Tony on my mind. Praying for some great results.

Platelets up again 215, reds up too 11.7, whites are flat. Lymphocytes and monocytes are slowly creeping up but ANC is still 0.14, No chemo again but no bone marrow test either. dr was very positive about the platelets and Heme coming up and speculates possible gvh causing white suppression. His face and neck are still red, sunburnt effect, so that could be gvh too. I'm throwing my arms up, who knows?!?! #wtfwbc
We come back Monday. He's been feeling great though, running, yoga, exercising again. But being nutrapenic this long is unsettling!
Thank you for the update. Overall it sounds good and I pray that things continue to improve.

I guess the doctors want to be reassured. I am no hematologist, but I cannot imagine a platelet count so perfect in the face of anything really wrong. I will pray, nevertheless, and am sorry you two have to go through this.
