I keep looking for good news for us all - it's certainly good news that we may have a good understanding of HS by now in terms of microbe species - but the question of treatment keeps getting thrown back to the idea that biofilm may be present in our lesion, and the reputation that biofilm keeps attracting of somehow being invincible to antibiotic agents, which makes a handy (if questionable) explanation for why they cannot get antibiotics to give us lasting...

  Not trying to bum anyone out, I know that many of us struggle with depression and that HS is depressing enough, let alone the politics of it... but I just worked up the nerve to try and see what's new in HS research this year - PubMed is still not listing articles in strict chronological order, but I went through 400+ articles that are from either this year or last - and I'm not sure it's pretty.It looks like there's been a big spike in HS research reports in the past 5 years, but I don't know...
