  I am on the back porch enjoying the weather and time with my husband when his friend calls.  His friend used to be in healthcare and he genuinely asked how I was doing having working in nursing homes for the last year.  My husband described all my heart ships with Covid: patient death toll, over worked, high census, low supplies... I am feeling everything right now.  Now I am tearing up and my husband is apologizing (without knowing I was even feeling anything).  I know it is better to talk...

  Tonight, thought I was having. Better Monday that usual.  Great dinner, fell asleep early.... woke up to pee and saw a text "dad had a fit tonight" messaged my brother who described a type of seizure, now it is midnight and can't sleep....

  It is hard to accept but it has been suggested to me that the last year with COVID being a nurse, in nursing homes, has caused me PTSD.  It has been a horrible year, I have lost so many patients , and I am at wits end.  I try to care for myself , but also have a family to care for. My stores are on empty, I'm so tired and burned out.  Anyone feeling the same?

  I am a wound care nurse who works primarily in SNF, this has been a hard year.  Working in geriatrics I lose patients, I hurt , and move on.. this year I have lost 100+ patients.  Not all to COVID but many had recovered and sercome to the next ailment.  I do go to therapy and am on antidepressant.    I can't sleep,  I wake up every night at odd hours and can't fall back in a real sleep, just a hazy doze. Is anyone else feeling this?
