It is hard to accept but it has been suggested to me that the last year with COVID being a nurse, in nursing homes, has caused me PTSD. It has been a horrible year, I have lost so many patients , and I am at wits end. I try to care for myself , but also have a family to care for. My stores are on empty, I'm so tired and burned out. Anyone feeling the same?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I hope you feel better soon.
I'm on the opposite end of the COVID madness. I've been working to get heavily traumatized and socially marginalized young children through the sudden loss of their world. None of them have died from covid or the maskite invasion, but we are all emotional train wrecks who don't feel safe enough to "Stay Safe."
I doesn't know but I does believe that year two of 2020 finds us with a rampant PTSD pandemic. The casualties are mounting.
Prayers in progress that we can close the social distances which have grown bigger than ever and appear to be still growing. For these socially marginalized children, year two of 2020 is a substantial percentage of their lives.
My mom was a nurse for forty-plus years. I learned from her and her co-workers that it is very common for nurses in certain specialties to suffer PTSD ----- nursing homes, cancer wards, etc. So.... take time for you, okay? It is NORMAL to feel how you feel after this last year. It'd be weird if you *weren't* affected. It doesn't indicate weakness, I promise, with a big puma purr-hug.
You do have a family, but they can maybe take care of *you*? Even little things used to be big deals for my mom. I remember being 8 years old and she'd be so happy to find the pets fed, litterbox cleaned, laundry folded ---- just that 15 minutes she didn't need to spend.
Much support.
Thank you for all that you've been doing .... There has been unbelievable tragedy with this virus and you're in my prayers
Welcome to the group.... xo
