  I hate to say this, but the trich journal really isn't working out for me. I'm generally a methodical and punctilious person, but the format of a trich journal turns out to be too rigid and structured for me. I get stressed out when I forget to note down every time I pull a hair out and hence have incorrect data, so in the end I just end up inventing information.   Total hairs (brows+lashes) pulled out: 24I know this seems like a lot, but it's probably the smallest amount of hairs I have ever pulled out in a week!Notes: I'm glad I started this journal. It's motivating me to limit my pulling and keeping track of it really does help.   Hey, it's Isa again. I'm happy to say I'm finally working on eliminating my trich by keeping a journal on my profile here and by being very aware every time I pull.So I was just wondering if anyone here has any other trips on battling trich. I know many people in this community have healed or nearly healed from this disorder, so there's definitely some expert advice to go around.   What I think can help me beat my trich is keeping a trich journal. Writing about this problem, especially in a supportive environment like DailyStrength, helps me come to terms with my impulsions and understand why I do what I do.We all have or have had some bad habits. I, for instance, used to bite my nails and eat with my mouth open. How did I stop? By being aware every time I did it and correcting myself every time.   I'm happy to say I stopped my leg-oriented trich for good. My earliest trich memories are of pulling my leg hairs out, and over the years my legs (especially the calves) have gotten all dry and scaly. A bit of Internet research informed me that it's called strawberry legs, but none of the sites mention trichotillomania as a cause of this condition. Anyway, I've stopped pulling out my leg hair!
