No More Weekly Journals
I hate to say this, but the trich journal really isn't working out for me. I'm generally a methodical and punctilious person, but the format of a trich journal turns out to be too rigid and structured for me. I get stressed out when I forget to note down every time I pull a hair out and hence have incorrect data, so in the end I just end up inventing information. I started noticing this towards the end of Week 1, but throughout Week 2 I kept putting off my recording of data and as a result I have nothing to write in my journal.
I came to realize that this trich journal is a very objective, impersonal thing. It doesn't really allow me to express my thoughts, worries, motivations, etc. about my trich and doesn't feel like it's coming from the heart. What's more, it wasn't really even helping me. Simply recording every time I pulled out an eyelash or eyebrow hair only depressed me and made me feel like the symptoms of my disorder were something to be categorized, not improved.
So now I'll try something different. I'll let loose the freer, more creative side of my personality and write about my trich here when I feel like it. I'll write my worries, my successes, my motivations, whatever thoughts I want. This feels more personal and more like it might help me defeat my trich for good. And the best part is, I know there's a whole community of people here who will support me and offer me advice when needed. I'm thanking you all in advance, and I can't wait to share this journey with you.

One of the best gifts we give our selves is to recognize what we have to do to make our healing work for us.
I did not like the trich journal for me, either. Good for you to use a "feelings" journal to help you sort through the connections. Best thing you did was see what worked with the journal and just as important what made you feel less strength. The goal is to use your strength to heal.
You're doing great!
Very good idea to make it a more free flowing journal. Hope things are going well for you Isa. Feel free to message me any time. I wish you well in your journey xo
Hope you are continuing to do well. I agree with messaging trickster to stay in touch, as that's easier than journal for some people in making their healing journey work better for them.
