  I find talk of "the Lord" distasteful. Being preached at offends me and brings no comfort. Platitudes and cliches are pointless. For me, grief is an enormous wave that I must simply ride until a more peaceful shore can be reached.It is healing,for me, to put my emotions into words...all of the tears, joy, anger and sadness must be externalized and this is how I do it. Affirmation and validation are not a requirement.   He was my cheerful child...easy to love and the one person in the world who could ALWAYS comfort me and make me smile again.   Weeping does not soothe a broken heart. I am consumed by sorrow, filled with anger and find myself engaged in daily conversations with dead loved ones. This feels like madness.I understand nothing.   When my son was born my sweet mother made him a quilt. He LOVED his quilt and loved and adored his Nana.He kept that quilt his entire life. Faded, pieces worn through in places, edges a bit frayed...no matter. It was with him everywhere he called home: folded neatly at the bottom of his bed as a teenager.
