  Healing actions for me- Learning something new/engaging in academic conversation/gaining new perspectives- Talking to and connecting with others - Being alone in a calming or sensually stimulating (gives information to the five senses)/natural environment that allows me to ground myself- Focusing on any activity percieved as productive and important and getting into the flow of it (applies to schoolwork, part time job, art) - "Fake it till you make it" confidence and happiness- "I tried"...

  We noted that I've rejected a lot of what my parents consciously or unconsciously taught me, ie in terms of academics and racism. Nicole suggested that my lingering anxiety may have to do with the things I haven't rejected yet. She noted that a lot of what my parents have trained me to do was done through coercion and a lack of respect. I brought up the Sequoia hotel shower example.   I saw someone say they felt like they missed the crucial spark of life that makes someone human. Instead they live doing the things that humans do to please others, so no one gets suspicious. I had that spark once. But I can tell that over the past year I've slowly lost it. I say year because though I'm tempted to say longer, most of my current problems are set within this past year. When I look back I think that I'll remember this year as being very painful, and that will be my chief memory....
