Me, I'd taken double walks every day all week down here in Mexico, so to just take my daily walk almost felt lazy. But it wasn't! I'm proud of us, walking no matter what, Rizen.
Then this morning on the 15th after my flight from Mexico City landed in the States, I had to walk the airport again. Extra this time because the airline suddenly changed my gate to a whole other area of the terminal. Again, I didn't ask for wheelchair assistance but I got to hurting so badly that I started wishing I had. It was too much walking for me.
I asked a security guard standing by a chair if I could sit down to relieve my pain, but she wouldn't let me. It was rough. I was glad to get home. Then when I did, there was this coronavirus outbreak to deal with here.
It was a hard trip, but I did the walking without a cane and without a wheelchair.
After my hike my nose started running and I was sneezing a lot. That lasted the next day too. I think I still had a little cold and pushed myself too hard.
Today I felt better and walked 2.1 miles.
While I walked I was reminded of these lyrics from the U2 song "Walk On:"
"And I know it aches
And your heart it breaks
And you can only take so much
Walk on
Leave it behind
You've got to leave it behind"
So for now I did leave my 2nd best friend's dying behind. Until tomorrow.
