Day 27 - Working to be more humble and not arrogant.
Day 1 - Being real, listening, being more attentive, and watching what I say to others.
Yesterday, I mentioned something to someone that my wife and I discussed we wouldn't discuss with anyone. This person knew about the topic we were not divulging, they just didn't know some of the details. They asked me a question about it when I was visiting them, and I just told the process of what we're going through, and slipped up, telling them about the item I was to not divulge. I owned up to my wife when I got home.
Fair to say she is not happy with me, and is now not talking to me. I need to think before I speak!! :(
It's been a rollercoaster since I've started. It's not been my thing checking in everyday but it helps that I am reminded by your updates everyday. Thank you
My lies have caused a lot of pain to those around me. I've almost lost my family. Still a very real possibility. I believe my commitment to the truth is what saved me from entering one of my darkest chapters of my life. I've revealed so much of me that is false and exposed an empty core. From this point onwards because there is nothing false I can start genuinely building a new identity.
My wife wants to believe so badly. She wants a divorce. I could still lose my home. My son. ( he'll! Even he is giving me lectures )
If your going to change... Have both feet in it. If your not ready to change then that's okay too. Just don't set yourself up for failure. Because you'll just sink. Way deeper..
I am reaping the rewards of telling the truth. I'm holding on to what's important Because of it.
And it's making me happy.
ultimately this is what I've learnt so far....
if you lie, to yourself or others you have no respect. If you have no respect, you don't care. And if you don't care. You cannot truly love.
I've got a long life ahead of me. I have a sence of direction now. And it is guided with truth.
