Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
Just joined. Don't know what to expect here. Feeling very confused as to what is happening.
I have been with my partner for 12 years, we have a child of 9 years, and we've been married for just one year. She tells me often how much she loves and adores me and I don't feel like I love her. Being with her is comfortable, it's "safe" but I am not excited to see her, emotionally or sexually.
Over the past couple of months there has been a new colleague at work. I am her superior, and she's 8 years younger than I. I do find her attractive but she's not "stunning". She is interesting, and funny, and kind and when she smiles, I get the warmth in my chest that I felt years ago with my wife. We have profound conversations that I would never have at home.
I actually don't know quite how my "crush" feels about me but we do get along well for sure. We have spent time together, alone, outside of work but of course there was no physical contact, just a couple of hours of conversation.
In some ways, I want to leave my wife regardless of what happens with my crush. But I am also scared of the unknown, there is a huge risk in breaking up our family, of course. I do not want nor intend to cheat, I can't do that. I mean, I can, but I would not be able to keep it a secret and it would forcibly tear our family apart.
Now more than ever, I feel distant from my wife but also I don't know what to think, feel or do about my crush.
I'm sure every situation is potentially hugely different but has anyone been through this type of experience? What did you do? What would you have done differently?

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

I think you wrote here for a reason. That you know this is not an ideal situation. That you wish things were better in your marriage. That you know talking to this girl at work is not right.
How old are you? If you are about 30 years old, then maybe you got married too young, without experiencing enough in the dating world before settling down. And now you are wondering if you "missed out" on anything.
This young girl at work gives you some attention, but that is all she can give you. More than likely, she will move on to someone her own age.
If you are 40 years old, this could be a mid-life crisis (they are real!).
The way I see it, nothing good can come from putting so much time and thought into this young girl. And, are you allowed to "date" people at your work? Nowadays, people can go after you for sexual harassment. You could get fired. She could press legal charges against you. Then what would you tell your wife about why you got fired and getting arrested??
I would suggest getting into therapy. A therapist can help sort out what you are feeling and going through. If you could also do marriage counseling, the two therapies would be even better.
It's nice to get attention from a new person, but think about your daughter, your wife.... they would like attention too. From you. If you really want out of your marriage, then that is something you need to decide and discuss with your wife.
Again, stay away from the girl at work. This is only clouding your better judgement. Look into getting some therapy. Don't do anything stupid that you will regret the rest of your life.
