Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
My best friend ruined my day with her immature, bitchy self. If she doesn't get her way, she has a tizzy fit. I told her weeks ago that I couildn't go to yard sales with her on 9/12 because i have a hair appointment. She wasn't happy. I also told her that I don't have any money to go to yard sales. She tried to talk me into going to more yard sales by saying that if I don't go, there will be that one thing that I've been looking for and I'll miss it. One of her favorite things to do is to talk people into doing things. Anyway, we went through the same thing in April when I had a hair appointment. She wanted me to cancel on my brother for my Saturday appointment on Friday. I told her that I couldn't cancel last minute and she said that wasn't last minute. I guess in her defense, I've never told her how anal my brother is about his profession. I have been hearing about every no show, late person, early person, wrong day person for years. In fact, he talks incessantly about it. So I didn't go to yard sales with her and she didn't speak to me that whole weekend. So fast forward to this morning, I was having a very good morning. I even got some stuff done. Then I wrote to her about my hair appointment. She said she figured since I haven't mentioned anything and then she said that her stylist comes iin on her day off to do her hair and that my "stupid" brother won't do that or did I even bother to ask. Then she said not to ask her for any favors. O to the M to the G! I do her favors all the time. I wrote back that she is horrible. I didn't look at my phone until I got in my car. She didn't respond. I was thinking I'd get the F word or some insult. What a frigging baby. She really puts me in a bad situation, over yard sales. My brother cherishes his free time. In 48 or so years, I have never asked him to do me any favors when it came to my hair. I am lucky to have him as my stylist. He takes $40 from me but always says that he hates taking it. I won't have it any other way. I am so mad at my best friend. I didn't know I'd be held at gunpoint to go to yard sales. I really shouldn't go at all and i feel obligated to go. I used to go to a bar with her. We stayed for 3 hours so she could get her drink on. I was bored to tears. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Recently, we went to bike races and she brought 10 cans of beer, disguised as soda. She got sloshed and was talking to all these people. I just wanted to leave. I was pissed but I didn't say anything to her. She also gripes about my snacks when I bring them. I've been listening to stories about her boyfriend for a few days less than 7 years. It is not a great relationship. I asked her recently if it's worth it. She puts up with a lot. She has lame excuses why she stays with him. He goes to hockey games with her and has a nice house in the Poconos. Big deal! You put up with his nastiness and his family not accepting you so you can't go to his family events or even spend holidays with him? No thanks to that kind of boyfriend. Thanks for listening! I got away from her twice before, wanted to a third time over a Peter Frampton concert that she got super nasty about and other times too. I don't deserve to be treated that way and frankly, I won't let it happen.

Hey yall! I don't usually post or check in here though it's been on my list for years. My name is Sara and I live at home with my parents. Collectively we have four dogs and two cats. I am 35 and though I work 10 hours a week I am also on disability for bipolar. I've come here because I'm struggling to find someone who understands. I only work weekends so I'm home the rest of the week. Mom...

During my last therapy session, my therapist talked to me about not buying things, especially since I have so many clothes that I don't even know what I have at this point. I can't find things I am looking for. She said that there will always be cheap things but there are needs and wants. I don't need to overbuy. Anyway, on a good note, I returned 4 things to Kohl's. On a bad note,...

It doesn't seem she appreciates you.
I would suggest, not that you asked, but to avoid her for awhile. Maybe then she will realize all you do for her and will appreciate you more. Don't expect any miracles from her, as people don't really change... But at least you won't be at her beck and call.
She can find someone else to do the yard sales and watch her get drunk. Sounds like everyone else got sick of doing those things with her! What a surprise...
Ignore her... at least for awhile. She is being SO selfish! She shouldn't have said any of those nasty things to you!
Sorry you have to deal with this. It is upsetting. A little distance helps to calm the stress (of her). Take some time for YOU.
