JBLL, it sounds like your story is similar to mine. I am going through IVF with ICSI due to male infertility issues. I have been on Buserelin for 20 days now, and must say, up until the last few days, I was feeling fine on them, but for the last few days i've been getting continual headaches, and am feeling rubbish in general.
I go back to the clinic this Wednesday (the 29th) for check up and to hopefully start on my stimulation drugs. (Stimms means stimulation drugs!) Not sure what i'm going to be taking, then i'll be going back to the clinic for check ups up until egg collection, which I believe will be around the same time as you.
I am feeling anxious and nervous as this is our first time, and if this doesnt work then we will have to find the finances to pay for another go (we get 1 free go over here in England where I live)
It's such a tough time, but being on here makes you realise just how many people are going through the same things as you, having the same thoughts and worries, and because of this, can totally understand what you're going through.
Hope everything goes well with you, and indeed, everyone going through IVF/ICSI at the minute.
H xx
I am going to be doing transfer around end of October. It's been 2 years since my last try. The first time was a fresh transfer of two perfect eggs but I had issues with ER and I think my body was on melt down. I am finally getting the courage to go for round # 2 on an FET. Glad I have some girls to go through this with!
Sticky baby dust to all of us and tons of BFP's!!!!
I am new to this site and am going through my first IVF. I was very happy to have found others going through a similar situation. I started Gonal F on 9/24 and just started Lupron today. My next ultrasound/bloodwork is on Sat. I have been very excited getting the progress updates from the nurses after the labwork! Not sure when retrieval is, but sounds like it could be sometime next week.
How do you all handle having to get time off work for all this? It's a little hard to tell them you have to be out, but are not sure when exactly yet.
Hope everyone has good news to share!
All - good luck, I am a little ahead of you. I have completed my stims, had the ER on Tuesday and go in on Sunday for the transfer. Best of luck to all!
Telsa, I know how are feeling right now. I remember the week before I started taking my injections and I was SO nervous, barely slept wondering what the side-effects would be like?! I think our state of mind and energy really play a big role in all of this. Try as best as you can to stay calm, think of the end result and try and stay positive. What I am doing is picturing being pregnant, picturing holdin my baby, rocking my baby in the nursery, decorating the nursery, maternity clothes...just really feeling like it's going to happen. Yes it puts a lot of pressure on IVF working but if it doesn't (which I am scared as hell about), we'll deal with it if we get there! For now, I am just really trying to have positive energy and thoughts. As for the side-effects, I had days (mostly the first few days of injections - I am a week and a half in)of feeling like crap, down, moody, emotional, but now I mainly have a headache which is manageable with Tylenol and resting when I can, accompanied by fatigue and dizziness. Nothing crazy though. I have had cramps and my stomach feels sensitive but all in all, not so bad. I just keep trying to stay positive. I go this Thursday for an ultrasound to see how the meds have worked and if all goes well, I would start stimms this Thursday - anybody want to share what those side-effects are like?
Helen, how are you doing on the stimms?? Did you start them? I hear you about the $$ worries. I hope so much this works for us all. I know being that the issue is a male factor, that does increase our chances. It is crazy how so many of us have to go through this!! :(
Someone was asking about time off with work - I told my team about IVF - I wanted to warn them about mood swings :S and explain why I'd be missing so much work. I am just really open about the procedure...guestimating when I could be off but telling them it could change anytime. I think being open about it all (with a select few) has been helpful for me.
SO, good luck everyone, lots and lots of baby dust!!
Anyone want to share what to expect with HCG medication and egg retrival? I am nervous about that and stimms side-effects.
JB xoxo
JBLL, Hope your scan goes well Thursday and you move onto stims. In regards side effects, i've felt so much better in myself since starting stims, but it's just the period pain/ovary cramps which are kicking in now. That's the only side effects i'd say. I'm taking Merional if that's any help?? 150iu a day. Still taking my Buserelin too, so it's 2 injections a day for me now - BOO :-(
Looks very likely ER will be next Monday (11th) - anyone else going through ER/ET next week GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!
Let's make October a lucky Month ladies!
xxxxxxxxxx
The only one which bothers me a little is the HSG shot, I am not sure why the area which I took the injection hurts a bit and has a pink ring around it today. It feels like a bruise when I press on it. Does anyone else have this experience?
Best of luck to everyone. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in this journey!
I've been on my stim meds for 5days. Its going pretty well! I'm going tomorrow for my bloodwork and ultrasound. I'm excited and I can't wait to get to the next step in this process. I've had some headaches and tonight I started having a stomach ache tonight and believe it or not it actually made me happy lol cause I'm thinking the meds are working ;)
Well good luck everyone and your all in my prayers!
Me Too. I had my 1st ultrasound today and I had 8 decent follies going. I was doing the happy dance because I was really worried about only having on ovary. Hopefully they all keep growing and maybe I'll get one or two more before ER.
Good luck lotsof hope.
Nero I hope everything was fantastic on your ultrasound.
I hope we make Oct the most BFP month ever!
I will be doing my second cycle of IVF with ICSI. I will be starting my Lupron on Oct 15 with ER around the 1st week of Nov.
I am not new to this because we did our very 1st cycle back in Feb of this year. We transfered 2 embryos and I found out I was pregnant March 2010. After 20 weeks of pregnancy my son Maverick was born sleeping. After all testing we found out that I had contracted an infection in my amniotic sac which caused my preterm labor.
After 3 months my husband and I decided that we are ready to try again and give Maverick a little brother or sister.
We will be on the same protocol...Lupron and Follistim. If this works we will be pregnant in the the month Maverick was supposed to be born. Maybe this will be a present from my angel baby.
I am so glad I have this site to talk with others going through the same thing. I wish you all the best of luck!!!!
~Stephanie
My bloodwork and ultrasound went well my dr said that my estrogen level is a little high so she cut my follistim from 150 to 75iu and took my menopur to 1 instead of 2 but she said she's not worried.I go back Thursday to make sure that everythings still on track. I'm praying that we are on track for ER on Monday!
My prayers are going strong for all of us! Lots of baby dust is being sent out to everyone!!!!!!
