I am happy to be halfway through my two week wait. One more week till test day. I can't wait. I'm back at work and keeping very busy so hopefully the weekend will fly by.
Now I'm back at square one. After crying my eyes out for almost 2 days, I am exploring my options:
1. Jump into IVF #3 (which terrifies me because of the long term effects of the hormones. I had decided IVF #2 would be my last. I thought I'd get at least 4/5 viable embryos out of this cycle to create our little family and never have to go through IVF again.)
2. Transfer the one embryo we have (but we want more than one child so IVF #3 is inevitable. That being the case, I'd rather do it now rather than later due to getting older and diminishing egg quality and quantity)
3. I am entertaining the idea of trying naturally. My husbands condition is dominant so we have 50% chance of passing it on to our child. But I'm just wondering: Let's say our child is affected by this condition, how difficult is it (emotionally) to terminate a pregnancy at 11 weeks? I feel like it will be heart wrenching. I feel like I will not allow myself to connect with the baby for those 11 weeks because I will not know it's fate. But what if despite trying not to bond with the baby, I become attached. Then I have to terminate. I don't know if I can endure all this.
On a positive note, one good embryo is all it takes. Could you be happy with one healthy child?
I will pray that the answers are revealed to you.
The response from my ovaries wasn't good so they are thinking there is an ovarian reserve problem because my FSH was elevated. They want me to take some supplements to improve egg quality and they want me to try again very soon because of the ovarian reserve.
My husband and I have been discussing everyday and we can't come to a decision if we want to do a 2nd cycle. So that is our current situation trying to figure out if we can do this again and if we should do it again.
