I would live in NYC, no problems with it at all, but I do know it like the back of my hand.
lol
Viv, I so want to get into the city next week.
Travel safe Leather.
I finally have a new car. a leased car, but I can drive easier now. breathe..
What's this about turtles?
Good for you. I disagree, obviously. It's apparent that in my two decades(+) stay in NYC, my experiences there have varied considerably to yours.
Unsanitary streets - roaches and rats in streets is not commonplace.
Manhattan, that's all you need to know. I will recount one experience, about 2 years ago in canal street where I was walking next to a girl, and as I turned to look at her she was staring at the floor and had a look of unease, she moved side ways, as if making way or getting out of the way of something. I looked down to discover a huge rat walking in the middle of the two of us. What caught my eye was the fact that this animal wasn't frightened by us, not in the slightest. Rats are everywhere, NYC is famous for them. Also cockroaches and bedbugs. If you are so familiar with NY, you should know that.
My God daughter was displaced out of her apartment in NYC for 2 weeks because of bedbugs.. It's in epidemic proportions.. But it's not just NYC. Seeing an occasionally rat is not that big a deal. When I lived in Boston, out of boredom we would throw pennies out the windows to the alleys and watch the rats run to them.. They were the size of cats..
What on earth does - even Jersey is cleaner...Mean? Sounds like you are stereotyping a wide geographical area...
Stereotyping? I got the impression from your first post to me that you never took the trouble in reading my message properly. Here, take a second look:
@Gina,
Way too many reasons to name. But a few would be; the unsanitary streets, the multitudes of (generally rude)people, cars and noise...the roaches and rats that share the streets with people. I think the big city is not for me.
NYC - A nice place to visit(depending on your likes) but you wouldn't(probably cos it's expensive) want to live there.
As you can plainly see I am considering people like you; with different opinions, & varying preferences. This was never meant to be anything more than a silly opinion on my part. It's meant to be a joke, but it contains large fragments of the truth, i. e. MY truth(my reality).
You are quite right about the vermin you mentioned. I meant that NY is famed for having them in formidable quantities. I have never heard anything like that in Boston.
Pleasant, me? That depends on who I am speaking with. For someone like yourself that appears to quickly stand up and defend something like a city, as well as two others things I've seen you say to others here. These things combined tell me that you and I are as compatible as people as a cat and a mouse. Some people detest me, as I do them. Others have called me "charming", "sweet" & "kind-hearted". So, to you, no. In your eyes I am probably a venomous snake. Anything that resembles nationalism of any kind I am hostile towards.
