Hi everyone,
Not even sure if this is the correct forum for this, but I really appreciate any advice you have.
I suffer from anxiety, but it is almost exclusively in regards to my relationship with my boyfriend. i have negative intrusive thoughts almost every day that he doesn't love me, he is sick of me, hes going to leave me. General feelings of not being good enough. This is impacting on my mood and I'm trying my best not to let it impact on my relationship by keeping my neediness to myself but it's getting harder.
My last partner cheated on me and left me so I think this has something to do with how I feel now. I am afraid of losing him, but know my behaviour would drive anyone away (if I let him know the full extent of my thoughts). He was so adoring of me and openly affectionate in the beginning, but since the honeymoon phase obviously this has lessened and it's more of a comfortable relationship now. I know it's unreasonable to expect the butterflies and adoration to last forever, I would like to feel content and not obsessive about this.
Can anyone relate? Has anyone any advice on how to improve my self esteem or how I view my relationship?
Should I tell my boyfriend?
Many thanks and sorry for the rant x

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart. Used a different debit card and pulled apart everything looking for missing debit card before I left parking lot. Got home, dropped keys. So now I have a missing debit card, missing keys. A full cartload to unload and put away. I got everything put away.Dumped purse for a...

Now, this isn't to say that being honest about these things will work with everyone. Some guys would get completely turned off by this honesty and run. Other guys would listen but not help. But there are others who will care and want to help. It truly depends on the kind of person he is. If he loves you, he will listen, he will want to help you and give you reassurance when needed....as long as it isn't out of hand, every second of every day. I'd say, do what would make you comfortable. Keeping this stuff to yourself may be a good idea to some, but being honest is a great way to grow your relationship and strengthen your bond. But ultimately, these insecurities aren't things for your boyfriend to fix for you. These are things that you need to work on yourself. Trust me, I know. I spent my whole life wanting someone else to fix my issues, to heal my wounds and remove my insecurities....but that never, ever works. You must learn to value and love yourself first. Therapy has helped me a ton and I recommend therapy wholeheartedly.
Good luck :)
