Hello, everyone:-) It's the holiday weekend. Today, as I type, it's CHristmas Eve; tonight kicks of Hanukkah. In a week, we bid farewell to 2016. (Who else wants to kick 2016 in the a** on its way out? Show of hands?)
Whatever your faith, plans, inclinations, etc., may you have a peaceful, happy weekend, full of love and safety.
Now, I have to go to my parents-in-law, to drop off presents, so we can avoid spending actual Christmas with the in-laws. PIN irked Hubby a little too far. He's boycotting any gathering with *her* until she invites *me* to her (new bigger better) house. Where I dn't want to go anyway.

Trivia: Police reports of domestic violence don't, in fact, increase that radically at the holdiays. However, the fact people have electric knives to carve turkeys leads to more *severe* incidents.
Trivia: People who have a knife block on their counter are more likely to be stabbed than those of us who keep knives in drawers. Easy access, apparently. So, like, if someone flips out at me in my kitchen,t hey'll whisk me to death.... Or break a wooden spoon on me. Seriously, is that weird to think about, or what? "Gee, what on my counter is a potential lethal weapon". OK, not weird for *me*, but for many people, it is.
Bizarre Tidbit: Firebowls now come as propane fire bowls! Which is.... a giant bowl of propane flames. Which makes it a decorative, non-useful-for-cooking patio grill. Soooo.... Yeah. I have a firebowl for our screened-in porch. I have lots of dead twigs, and hate a half-used tank of propane lurking around. I need a safe way to have fire so Hubby can have his Christmas Eve roasting-on-a-real-fire fantasy (his food is roasting, not Hubby), and the fireplace is in the Flea Zone, and if there's a stink of burned vegan hot dogs, I'd sooner it was outside anyway.
Oh no. Hubby has an early present for me! Gotta go!

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
OK, I'm an adult, really....
May you all have a squishy teddy bear cuteness weekend!
I think I'm going to try and stay home and see if my husband will take my mom to the grocery store for Christmas dinner groceries. I just feel overwhelmed and I'm in a lot of pain. I did a lot yesterday, and we stood entirely too much in church last night. It lasted an hour and 10 minutes, not bad, but a lot of standing. The girls got to make a Christmas cookie in church and they were bouncing off the walls at 9pm last night. That's their usual bedtime. Boy and another late night tonight with Jason's family. Christmas afternoon is my mothers and Christmas dinner. I look forward to it, but I think I need to set time limits at each, I'm tired of overdoing it and hurting so much more. My mother made me mad yesterday telling me I just need to push through it, it's not like your sick or something. Scream, cry, and hit something hard. That's about all you can do, nobody gets it. Well I'm going to make oreo balls with my cuties, and I need to wrap presents for their cousin tonight. I hope everyone has a great day. I will check back. Special hugs to everyone.
I was surprised last night. My partner brought home a bouquet of roses for me. They are just gorgeous! Two of the cats like eating flowers so they have to be put away at night and if we go out. Or, I will come back to stems and cat barf everywhere.
Leo - Giving your Hubby s gold star for refusing to go to PINs house. Your new stuffed toy sounds really cute! Your knife comments made me chuckle. I live with a Chef who has knives and cleavers everywhere. Butcher blocks, drawers full and Chef luggage with even more of them. He could make mincemeat of the entire block with one hand tied behind his back. I hope you can get the rest of your Christmas related stuff done and just relax.
Twin- I like your plan to do less. I really hope that Hubby will help by taking your Mom to the store. I'm a firm believer in time limits. My partner likes to have pretty big dinner parties. I've been known to kick people out who won't take the hint and leave. Most of the attendees can read me well enough to know when it's time but there is always one in the crowd lol. I'm sorry that your Mom said that to you. It's a rotten thing to say and very hurtful. Stick to your guns on the time limits. You have to rest. Hugs!
AngelaJo - You did well to stand up to that woman. You are getting really good at handling stuff like that! You are killing me with your baking descriptions!! Everything sounds super yummy. I hope that you don't overdo it. Pacing is important. Hoping that your day goes well!
Now going to exit my nest and see what is going on at the other end of the house. I have a little bit of dusting to do and I will probably set the Roomba loose for a bit. Out for Chinese dinner tonight with my Mom and brother. I hope to be home by 8 and off of my feet.
I hope that everyone will remember to try and pace it at least rest whenever possible. I'm so grateful to have all of you in my life. Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas!! Group hug!
Leo I have several teddt bears too. One is little over 5 feet tall and is my snuggle buddy lol. I don't get Christmas presents anymore but that's ok. My kids are all that matter.
Twin I feel your pain. No one around here gets it either. Hang in there and try not to over do it. I'll send you my address so you can send me some sugar cookies. Deal? Lol!
Angela 70 lbs is a lot of weight gone! I lost 60 in 2 months so I'm with you. I hope you don't have anymore run ins with *her*! The last thing you need is someone who is hypercritical of you.
I'm doing okay ish for the most part. Had some blood work done day before yesterday and a biopsy done on my stomach and esophagus yesterday. I have been really sick for the last couple of months and my Dr is at a loss as to why. I'm hoping it's nothing serious. I don't have any special plans for today. My parents went to Arizona for Christmas and the rest of my family says that Christmas is for individual families not extended family. So this year it's just me and my kids. I don't know if I want to cry or party.
Merry Christmas everyone!! Group hug!!
the short story is I had a had a rough night and overdid it yesterday... just too much. Canceling everything today. Just want to stay in bed.
Read all of your posts and had posted responses but DS ate it 2x. Big hugs and peppermint chocolate for everyone....
LEt's see if DS eats this one.....!
Blessings to everyone and a peaceful restful day as much as possible for Sunday!
I am sort of awake. Been taking the tramadol for my back and it knocks me out so bad. I didn't take one during the day yesterday, and suffered for it, so I'm going to keep taking them.
The 23rd was Christmas with both sets of kids and their families. Everyone went sledding. I just watched because of my back. I was head photographer. Later we sang Christmas carols, then opened gifts. It was a great day.
Christmas Eve was spent at our son's house. Saw 5 yr old granddaughter in the Christmas program. Then we went home and they opened their family gifts.
This morwill be church and then we are heading home. In freezing rain no less. I'll be glad to get home.
Everyone have a wonderful Christmas. You are all so dear to me. Thanks for being my friends.
