Hello, everyone:-) It's the holiday weekend. Today, as I type, it's CHristmas Eve; tonight kicks of Hanukkah. In a week, we bid farewell to 2016. (Who else wants to kick 2016 in the a** on its way out? Show of hands?)
Whatever your faith, plans, inclinations, etc., may you have a peaceful, happy weekend, full of love and safety.
Now, I have to go to my parents-in-law, to drop off presents, so we can avoid spending actual Christmas with the in-laws. PIN irked Hubby a little too far. He's boycotting any gathering with *her* until she invites *me* to her (new bigger better) house. Where I dn't want to go anyway.

Trivia: Police reports of domestic violence don't, in fact, increase that radically at the holdiays. However, the fact people have electric knives to carve turkeys leads to more *severe* incidents.
Trivia: People who have a knife block on their counter are more likely to be stabbed than those of us who keep knives in drawers. Easy access, apparently. So, like, if someone flips out at me in my kitchen,t hey'll whisk me to death.... Or break a wooden spoon on me. Seriously, is that weird to think about, or what? "Gee, what on my counter is a potential lethal weapon". OK, not weird for *me*, but for many people, it is.
Bizarre Tidbit: Firebowls now come as propane fire bowls! Which is.... a giant bowl of propane flames. Which makes it a decorative, non-useful-for-cooking patio grill. Soooo.... Yeah. I have a firebowl for our screened-in porch. I have lots of dead twigs, and hate a half-used tank of propane lurking around. I need a safe way to have fire so Hubby can have his Christmas Eve roasting-on-a-real-fire fantasy (his food is roasting, not Hubby), and the fireplace is in the Flea Zone, and if there's a stink of burned vegan hot dogs, I'd sooner it was outside anyway.
Oh no. Hubby has an early present for me! Gotta go!

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

... observed a solar eclipse.

I wish each of you a day as full of good warm fuzzies. You're treasures, each and every one of you, and I am honored to do the check-in, in keeping with thsoe who did it before me, to make sure we fibro-mighty folks have a place to go where we know people are there every day.
Happy Christmas everyone! I hope your day will be full of smiles, or at the least mostly absent of tears. Thank you all for for making this DS board what it is! Vrolijk kerstfeest!
I don't have a keyboard for the way to say it in Polish, but I'll toss out a Spanish "Feliz Navidad!"
Hyvaa Jolua!

Ida, have a safe trip home. I'm so glad you had a great time with your family. It sounds so nice.
milily, Merry Christmas, I hope you still have some energy, lower pain, and a great day!
precious. I know how you feel, but I hope you still had a great time with just your kids. Merry Christmas and many hugs. Send me that address. :-) I hope you get some answers from the blood work and biopsy so they can help you.
fantod, I hate when Jason is watching TV all day, and here I am worn out and stressed to the max going nonstop. It really pisses me off to say the least. I hope you have a great Christmas today, and that your dinner last night was great.
blue, sorry DS ate your post. Hugs to you and I hope your feeling better today.
The girls are going to kill me. haha. It's nonstop here and opening box after box. My hands are killing me, and of course all the other usual pains are in full force, but it's great to see how happy my girls are. And my husband bought me a beautiful heart bracelet, he has always been good at picking out jewelry for me. I just wish everything else would improve with him. :-)
Have a great day, lots of rest, yummy food and sweets, and hopefully time with loved ones. Thanks to all of you for being here for me. You are truly more like family. Hugs
DS kept losing my posts and kicking me off yesterday.
Ida, hope you got through the freezing weather alright last night. Glad you went to the service.
Fantod, good to hear your tummy is doing better!
Twin, I hope you're having a good day and your mom isn't lecturing you too much (I hate it when people tell me to push through -angry face). You deserve a peaceful relaxing Christmas!
Leo, I'm so glad you had a great day and a good celebration! It's about freaking time! :)
Sonya, thanks for being here too. You're part of the daily support I look forward to.
Kel, Merry Christmas to you , too. Hope you aren't flaring too bad today.
Angela, yay, you went to church!
Well, I put my foot down yesterday and did nothing. Stayed in bed. Everyone (but mom, of course) left for the whole day and the house was nice and quiet. Exactly what I needed, well except for mom panicking over what to cook and then almost burning the kitchen down. For real. She hadn't made latke since... I don't know it's been years and wanted to try it. My husband was supposed to come back (w/ the crew) before sundown to help her, but he called and said they'd be late.... so she thought she'd try and make it herself. Big mistake! I learned a lesson in never leaving her alone unsupervised in the kitchen. She put the oil on to heat ON HIGH and walked away (to peal potatoes) and forgot!! When I saw the smoke bellowing and came running to the stove screaming about it, she apparently confused high and low on the freakin nob. Holy crap. She could have burned the house down. And who puts oil on and then peals potatoes??! Anyway, I finally got some sleep last night and should have the energy and lower pain to cook the Christmas meal today. :)
Be merry and be blessed, everyone!
Blue that is really scary! I'm glad you got there before it all went up in flames! WOW!
Leo I'm glad you had a good time. It's about time!
Twin I feel your pain. My daughter wanted me to play SkipBo with her and we sat on the living room floor for an hour and a half and now my body is absolutely killing me. Try to rest as much as possible to ease the pain.
The meal is cooking and what do I find? I'm missing most of what I need for dinner. With no car, 11 inches of snow (and it's still falling) and everything closed for Christmas, yeah I'm screwed! Eh I'll just improvise.
Sounds like everyone is having a busy weekend. I am pretty worn out. My back still hurts when the tramadol wears off. Hubby said he will carry all the laundry up and down the stairs. He will be home this whole week! Yay!
Take care, everyone.
