It is great to have this place to go to and this forum seems to be a pretty active forum, which is nice when someone has questions or just needs support.

Peachoatmeal - If you can register with a PO box address than do that if you are afraid they will put two and two together.
If you make your own post with your question you probably can get more ideas on what you could do.

Peachoatmeal I am a teacher and did not have a problem with the registry. I also have to get fingerprinted every few years when my license is renewed. Where do you live? It is easier in a big city where you don't know all your neighbors and if you can put a PO Box number instead of your address that would work too. I think there are quite a few teachers on this sight.

We met in September (2010) and it took him until February (2011) to tell me about it.
We talked about everything and he was so scared it was going to make me run away.

ya i will addmit when it comes to dating i get nervous when i have to tell them about my past i like to put it off for as long as i can and want to tell them when i fell it's the right time

True Nathan, you probably don't want to tell a women on the first date, but as soon as you can tell it is getting more serious then one must tell the women so she can decide if it is something she can do. I am sure it is something that is hard to tell a women, I am sure it was hard for my bf to tell me about everything when he did, he probably thought he was going to lose me.

I am sure there are many women that will stay in the relationship when they hear the news, as well as some that will be "out the door and running" as soon as they hear that someone is a RSO. But I will tell you the ones running away without even a chance would be someone that you shouldn't want in your life anyways, if they can't deal with hard issues in life and support you.

Because at the end of the day you want that special women or man in your life that is going to support you and that you will support in turn.

that is true there is a girl i want to go out with and date we've known each other for a few years didn't tell her about my pass or anything and someone me and her know opened there mouth and told her about me being a SO and she asked me if it was true i told her ya it is true i even showed her my papers she told me that he had no right judging me for something that happend 6 years ago it was in my past me and her are very close still and she is so nice to me

So have you asked her out, Nathan? At least she knows and she didn't disappear.

well i need to get a job you know kinda hard to date a guy who doesn't have a job girls look at that and usually lose intrest and ya im glad she didn't disappper i think the guy who she was going out with didn't like that i was moving in on her and blabbed to her even though they broke up something told me he told her about my past out of a fit of jealousy

Yeah, true finding a job should be the priority right now. Though just hanging out with her and getting to be better friends just might close the deal when you get a chance to ask her out. Hope it all works out for you.

ya she's a real great lady and ya sounds like he was jealous even though they broke up he still wanted to hangout with her alot and got mad that i was hanging around with her so he told her about me being an SO that's all he said and he said he wants nothing to do with me just because im a SO he is like everyone in socity and i am glad she is nothing like him it's just hard how people will belive one person yes my offense is real and yes i am not proud of what i did but he needs to look at him self before he passes judgement on others i hope things will go well for me and this girl i just hope it will

I met a guy a year ago whom I love a lot he is an amazing person but, I found out about his past because I do not. Trust people and run background checks on all guys who try to date me, I have been hurt in my past.I have two daughters too so I do what I can to protect them...I found out about his past he didn't deeny it and he has been honest with me...but I still have issues with trust...we have been dating a year but his probation makes it so he can not be around my girls...I have met his son we spend as much tim as we can together. I just struggle still with trust, and because we have all these limits on being together...its hard to love a SO because u fear people judging them and you if you need support...and I do, we won't make it if I can't talk about all this...I don't know if I will ever trust him with my kids because my past and fears of my ex taking my kids away.... But I love him and I don't want to let him go...any support would help I feel so alone in this...

interesting question Nathan I don't think I have ever seen that question posted here before. let me tell you how my girl reacted when I told her. she was stunned at first then she told me she saw how my kids trusted me with my granddaughters she said if she had not seen the trust and the respect that my children had shown me she would not have trusted me she does have a son who was 7 when we first met he is 11 now and I have been more of a father to him then his own dad I pick him up from school babysit while she is at work. However I have been lucky when I moved in with her I did register like I was suppose to the police only came out for 1 compliance check since I have been here then next thing I know in June 2011 I get a letter from the DOJ saying I no longer have to register no more compliance checks nothing and that happened after they made me move from a house that I had just moved into because the said it was too close to a school.what made me upset about that was I had to put down $1,000.00 to move in I only lived there for 3 months thank god I had my girlfriend or I would have been on the street she said she loves me for me and the past is the past and I treat her with respect and I do help around the house. next year we will have been together 5 years.cool huh?

I just wanted to jump in your probation didn't limit contact with female minors at all? my guy had probation changed so he can be around boys for his ex, but still has the girl restrictions....you said your family allowed you to baby sit so it sounds like you didn't have these restrictions?
