Simba..... that is one heck of a victory!!!! Wow. That's fantastic. Good for you. I've been wondering about doing the same thing... to try on my daughter's jeans. My cousin-in-law just lost tons of weight and is half of her old body size and she tried on her 13 year old's jeans and they fit her! Since then I've been contemplating the same thing. NOW, I have to do it. You've given me inspiration to try it. However, I doubt that I'll fit into them. lol
Size 7 is a great size to be. Do you plan to lose more or do you want to maintain this weight? Or do you plan to lose a little more so that the jeans will fit better on you and then maintain?
I'm glad I called you out but I'm sorry that I didn't realize you only weigh in once a week :(
Jan 27
I gained 0.5 lbs overnight....
Current weight; 144.0 lbs
Hmmm...... this up and down is driving me crazy! I just want to continue on a downward spiral. lol However, to be fair, I didn't eat exactly to plan.... I overdid some areas and didn't even touch others. I had an extremely busy day.
Jan 28
144.5 lbs
My weight is slowly climbing back up...I don't know what's happening. It's too early for my period to start so I can't say that it's water retention.... even though it feels like it. Hmmmm........
I guess it's from poor choices for food during the weekend? I ate healthy but I may have overeaten certain foods groups. I honestly didn't weigh and measure everything! I had a very busy weekend doing a lot of catchup housework. My bedroom and my upstairs is starting to look like a home.... that people actually live here. Lol. (How long does it take a person to settle in before their rooms look good?
Simba, you might be right about that. I ate Popeyes chicken on Friday and I was trying not to eat the skin but I did.... it was so good. I noticed that the upward climb had started. It didn't help any that I ended up eating pizza (home made) on Saturday. Crazy weekend!
Today, Jan 29, I am back down to 144.0 lbs. I drank soooooo much water yesterday.
I hope I can continue this downward spiral....
I think you can definitely make your target weight by the wedding in April! You just have to stay focused and keep the wedding as your motivation! You will do it.
Good luck!
I dropped 0.5 lbs overnight and I'm at 143.5 lbs.
I was exactly at this point 4days ago! I just keep thinking now that if I had stayed away from all those 'unsuitable foods' I may have lost more instead of gaining.
Simba, congrats on your 2lbs loss!!! That's awesome. You should celebrate with a carrot stick. lol
I feel that we're in the same boat. We lose a little and are happy then gain it right back... which makes us unhappy. I think we both need something to focus on and not let those little temptations get the best of us. Of course it's really hard when some circumstances around you cannot let you stay focused but, we have to be strong and do the best we can in those situations.
Anyways... your motivation is getting a form fitting dress for the wedding in April. Just imagine how you will look.... how people will notice and stare at you in awe.... all the compliments that you'll get. You will be so proud. Keep those thoughts with you and you should continue to lose the weight. Just keep going.....
My motivation is a two step thing. I am going away for a two week vacation in mid-February! DH announced that we are going and that a family vacation is well overdue. We've actually NEVER had one where it was just US! I'm so excited. We're going somewhere warm. The first part of the vacay will be with family.... I can't wait to show them my sculpted (still work in progress) body. I am buying new clothes and am pleasantly surprised on the sizes I'm able to wear! Some of the tops i've picked maybe too big!
The second part of my motivation actually happened yesterday. I went to my daughter's school for a performance and one of the other parents came over and said "You've lost a lot of weight, haven't you?" I felt great. Finally someone noticed and said something! It re-affirmed to me that I have actually lost weight and that it IS noticeable! All those others who have noticed and said nothing are simply jealous! They can't compliment me because of their own short comings! (Of course, this doesn't apply to my siblings and family and my in-laws who I see all the time and they don't notice.) I think that the people you haven't seen in a while are the ones who will notice!
Anyways.... these are great motivations for me to keep going and not to let anything get in my way of achieving my goal! I'm super pumped. I'm excited that i'm back down to where I was before. There is no way to go but down!
Dropped 0.5 lb overnight! I was very diligent with my measurements and weights and with what i was putting in my mouth! I'm going to continue on this trend and lose my weight before my trip. However, on the trip, everything goes! I'll do my best when I can but I plan to enjoy and eat everything to my heart's content!
sorry for not posting since 5 days friends,
what happened was i didn't weigh myself on 27 n 28 just to see what happens if i don't check weight daily and with this i indulged in typical WINTER indian breakfast , potato/ green veg/ radish filled paranthas (indian bread fried in oil or butter) with lots of butter and pickle, believe me it tests like heaven if ate hot right from TAWA (indian cookware) with fat filled curd
if it would have been only breakfast then it would hv been ok as it gets digested n burned during day but the sin was to eat same food in lunch and dinner too, so this heavenly tasting food kept going in my mouth for 2 days without checking on weighing scale and then on 29 i weigh myself i was 85.7kg, iw as shocked and i thught i will compensate by not eating today but i straved myself in day and at night i had a heavy meal so on 30 jan i was 85.9 kg then i ate in moderation, on 31 st i was 85.6 kg and today on 1st feb i am 85.2 kg
this has taught me a lesson, always check weight daily, even if i do not lose , i do not gain this much , daily weight checking is very essential for people like us who tend to put on weight very fast (almost overnight, our bodies are too sensitive), by daily weight check we be in + or - 1 kg of our current weight and not gain more then that
congratulations for ur weight loss, i will be more regular from now on
Raymh.... there's no need to apologize.
You needed to step back and reassess things. We all need to do that once in a while.
You've discovered, as i have, that daily weigh-ins keep us in check. Without them, we will faulter and sway a bit to the other side and, before we know it, the weight has just come back and we get disappointed in ourselves. We know better and yet we let ourselves slip.... it's too easy. Now we have to work extra hard to shed the pounds we worked so hard to shed in the first place! It's a never ending cycle.
You are the reason that this thread/group was formed in the first place. You wanted accountability partners and you wanted people who would check in from time to time to detail their progress.
I'm glad you're back. It seems that you have a fire inside you now and are determined to get rid of that weight. That's what you needed..... the fire!
Keep your motivation. I'm not sure if you have anything coming up that you would like a unveil a 'new you' at but, if not, let your motivation be for the next time you see your sister-in-law. Let her look at you and think YOU look great now! When will the next time be that you might meet again?
My motivation is my upcoming trip. Simba's motivation is an upcoming wedding.
While it's great to have the motivation to keep us focused, let's not forget that the whole reason we're doing this is to be healthy and look great as a bonus. Let's not forget that this is the real reason! We're in it for the long term.
Feb 1 - 15 days to my trip
I was so focused and determined to keep the downward spiral to my goal. I was doing everything right and hoped I might see a drop in the scale this morning. However, I didn't. I stayed the same and I'm so grateful! We ended up going out for dinner last minute. DH though it would be a good idea since we were on the other side of town where our favourite restaurant is.
I'm so proud of myself.... I made the right choices and I ate very healthy. I didn't sacrifice taste or options. We went to Red Lobster and I ordered everything grilled. I actually told the waitress that I am losing weight and that I was at my lowest and didn't want to jeopardize it. She suggested a wonderful option and sides.
I'm grateful I didn't gain. It's a miracle. I usually will gain 0.5 - 1.0 pounds.
Current weight: 143.0
Goal weight: 140.0
Still 3.0 lbs to go!
Shy that is awesome that your hubby surprised you with a vacation! And congrats on getting to your all time low weight...you will be 140 in no time!
Raymh glad to see you back! It is a day to day struggle to eat right...but do not give up! We can do this :)
I having been staying on track with my eating & exercising. I will weigh myself on Monday. It is TOM, so I hope I do not see a gain. You ladies have a great weekend!
@shy, thank u so much dear, and wow wow wow, just 3 lbs to go, now plz dont sway and shed it fast, even if u hv to keep fast for a day, just touch the goal weight
@simba-- best of luck u to dear
2nd feb 2013-- 85 kg
my current motivation is a wedding on 17-- 18 feb 2013, lets see how do i do in next 15 days
@Raymh..... I was thinking the exact same thing! I wanted to do a two day cleanse starting today. These really work for me and are part of the plan I follow. It boosts my metabolism and gets me ready to lose more weight. I should have done it the minute DH said we were going on the trip but, I got too busy going out and buying things we need. So much for my gym committment (and I was really excited again). Oh well. A trip is so worth it.
I started my period last night. I was so busy and focused on chores that I didn't even realize that it was that TOM for me!
The last thing I wanted to do was do the cleanse on the first day of my period. My legs get sore with the rush of blood in my veins and I sometimes feel really crampy. I just didn't want to do it.
I will definitely do it on Monday and Tuesday!
My periods last for 6 days..... the only upside to this is at least i won't have it during my trip!
Congratulations on shedding that excess weight! Now focus and do not sway... take your own advice..... and get those numbers down into the 84's! I want to see 83 soon. I haven't seen that yet and it's overdue! You can do it. STAY AWAY FROM THE YUMMY FOOD. Let your DH and DD enjoy them and you stay true to your goal. That's how I've been doing it.
@Simba: Thanks so much for the support. It is only three pounds but my body doesn't want to give them up. I'm having a really hard time with this roller coaster ride.
Current weight: 143.5 (up 0.5 lbs due to water gain and TOM)
Goal weight: 140.0
3.5 lbs to go
It is soooooo cold outside!
I went back down to 143.0. Still TOM and the water retention is pretty bad. My ankles are so swollen.... I was walking around doing errands for 4 hours yesterday!
Size 7 is a great size to be. Do you plan to lose more or do you want to maintain this weight? Or do you plan to lose a little more so that the jeans will fit better on you and then maintain?

Shy your recent gain is probably from water retention. Did you eat any salty foods?
Today, Jan 29, I am back down to 144.0 lbs. I drank soooooo much water yesterday.
