Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Almost ten years ago my older sister left the family to join a cult. She would occasionally come around but only to say hi to me or our siblings, never our parents because of the rough history that happened. My younger brother met up with her yesterday to see how she's been and he called me up shaking. He said she looked so thin like paper, her hair was greasy like she hadnt showered in a long time and her face was sad, almost sunken in. She's apparently living with a room mate. We don't know if she's still with the cult. We're slowly trying to get her to trust us.
My brother is scared and so am I. I know she's a grown woman and can make her own decisions but just sitting here and doing nothing is breaking my heart.

But outside of how to interact with your sister, I'd say that keeping a full disclosure line between you and your siblings who are talking to your sister (or are open to talking to her) is critical. She may give each of you a different view into her life, and by comparing notes you may get a more complete picture.
Beyond that, have you considered talking to a therapist who specializes in things like this? She/he may not be able to tell you a lot without talking to your sister, but they should be able to give you some guidelines.
I wish you luck
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
