Ok, I'm sure this has probably been asked before and I'm looking for honest answers. Since we are or have been all in the same boat regarding divorce/separation/breakups, etc....would you ever consider getting remarried after going through such a trauma? If so, how long would you wait to do it? I'm really to the point where I don't think (no I know) I could ever trust anyone again..let alone date or get married to them. Just seeing what the opinions are out there.

Well, I'm Catholic, so I'm married to this man for the rest of my life whether he's in it or not. It's sad and a relief all at the same time.

I don't think I will ever let anyone in enough to hurt me again. I have the wall back up, it took my stbx almost ten years of being together to get past the wall in the first place. It wasn't until very shortly before we started having issues that I told him almost everything. He never got anyhitng that I wasn't ready to share. Yeah, I'm dating, but people get what i want to give them from me. It may not be the best way to live, but it works for me. I don't think I believe in being in love anymore. I will be happy to live with someone, but I know I won't remarry. Jaded, maybe, true to myself definitly. The walls are still there and will probably always be.

No, I am well aware of Catholic teaching. It is highly unlikely I have grounds for an annulment, and I doubt I will ever want to go there anyway.

In all seriousness...*yes, I can be*...I want to love again someday but, TRUST is the true key. If I never find that trusting love, then, I will grow old alone and gracefully.

I feel different ways about it ...

One on hand, I doubt if I'll ever really trust a significant other 100% any more ... also doubt that I would find someone at my age with 2 kids ... one with special needs. Our home is not always a pleasant place to be.

On the other hand, I know I have a lot of love to give and I want to share that with someone who is willing to give it back also ... because I know I deserve it as well. Plus, I don't want to let that asshole who has destroyed our family and marriage ruin the rest of my life, too.
