I had been with this man for 1 1/2 years. Everything started off GREAT! But then things began to start unraveling about his addictions to crack cocaine and alcohol. I knew his addiction was becoming a bigger problem over the months. We did not live together yet so I assumed maybe his family saw what was happening. We went on a family vacation and this man spewed the most hurtful things at my children and me all because he was withdrawing. He stated how he wanted my kids father dead and how I must still be in love with him among so many other things. Needless to say... I drove him 4 hours home just to turn around and drive back by myself to continue my time with my children alone. After a brief rehab stay, we ended up moving in together. The relapses continued and I was at my breaking point. He begged for another last chance. So I gave him this last chance. He already maxed out my credit cards, didn't contribute anything but $200 towards the household bills in 7 months, and blew every dime he had. He bought a jewelry set for me and considered it a promise ring. The SAME day he gave it to me, he relapsed again. I was heartbroken. He began his emotional abuse and it just was relentless. He spent hours on the phone with an ex girlfriend speaking ill of me while sitting in my living room. He made comments to me about how I looked like I was wearing a bed sheet and how I caught a cold because I'm lazy, unmotivated and fat. To top all that off, He had the audacity to tell me to my face that if I didn't allow him to go away with me on my girls weekend to a tattoo expo that he already planned to hang out with his ex and that things may get intimate with her. This was not the first time he told me he thought of doing that. My heart is just shattered. I work from home, I don't socialize with others, I seriously only have 1 friend that I talk to. I went away for my girls weekend and even though we spent most of our time in our hotel room -- when I arrive home the first things he says to me are that I look tired and under the influence. He said that I am a dry drunk and I must have many guys on the back burner just waiting in line. He again brought up my ex husband stating that I am still in love with him and how he wants him dead. I told him that he needed to get sober. That he needed to leave my home and no he is not allowed to be an inconsistent figure in my childrens lives anymore. I can't believe a word this man says anymore but I find myself in tears because I gave this man 100% of my heart and it is being returned to me in mostly disintegrated pieces. I feel like the biggest fool and yet it is so hard to not believe that I'm not worthy for the many reasons he tells me. How can a man that STILL to this day as he is moving out tell me he still wants to MARRY ME and treat me like this? I gave him his jewelry back as I don't want the reminder that I'm nothing to him. How do I move forward from this pain????

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

You know he has been horrible to you, and to your children. You deserve much better than this jerk.
It's hard, I know. Don't believe anything he says. He lies, he manipulates, he is a very mean person. It is for the best that you get far, far away from him. He is dangerous.
I understand that is not going to be an easy thing to do. And yes, maybe he was nice in the very beginning, but his true colors came out real quick and now you feel kind of torn... I get that. But you know inside that he is bad for you. Love does not look like this.
Being alone for a little while will be okay, you will get through it.
Therapy would really help you to get your self esteem back, to work on co-dependency.
He is nothing but trouble. You do not need to get pulled down with him. And especially because you have children..... where is their father, by the way? Was the relationship with your children's father also like this one?
