I am a teacher. I have met other teachers here. I was wondering how many of us are in helping professions, like nurse or whatever. It could just be me. What do you all think?
BTW, my therapist told me that through the years a good percentage of his clients/patients have been teachers and nurses, and any other so-called "helping" profession.
Your question got me to wondering about the divorce rates "by profession".
I did a quick google and found this little note on a site that was trying to dispel myths about police officers.
Myth
Law enforcement officers (LEOs) suffer a significantly higher rate of divorce than other professions.
Fact
According to the CDC, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, between 40% to 50% of all new marriages ends in divorce. While some professions do have higher than average divorce rates, law enforcement is not one of them. In fact, the most significant factor bearing on the variable divorce rate appears to be the individuals state of residence.
