Hi everyone. I'm new here. I have been involved for the better part of 5 1/2 years with a partner who I knew from the start wasn't a fit for me but I did everything I possibly could to make it work. We started counseling in January of this year and we made a lot of progress but even after being able to get along much better and having some wonderful times, I had to get honest with myself and admit that this is just not who I see myself with as our communication styles are just too different. He doesn't "get me" and I am baffled all the time by his thinking and how he comes to different conclusions. Same for him. It was wayyyyy too much work for me and I just couldn't take it any more. I wasn't happy because he is not what I want in a partner. So, I am going through the grieving process now and grateful that I was courageous enough to be honest, rather than staying in a relationship that wasn't right for me. It's very difficult when both partners truly love each other and care about each other. Unfortunately, sometimes it's just not enough. I will be grateful for any support received and I look forward to giving support immensely! Thank you.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

My best friend is on her second marriage. He didn't turn out to be someone who "got" her. She did have a child with him and is staying to have the 2 parent home she wanted for her son.
However, this comes at a price. She realizes she is emotionally neglected - and as a sensitive, thinking person not being able to share that aspect of yourself with the closest human you chose to spend the rest of your life with is very empty feeling.
Never abandon yourself.
Sending you light and love!
It is always so difficult to make a change and a bold move but you should be proud of yourself for making it happen. I always advocate for those that are married to figure out a way to make it work, but it does not sound like you are so it is easier in some ways to move forward and on. I hope that you can both stay friends and find much happiness in the future. God Bless.
As far as Love Addiction support groups. I don't know if any such thing exists in person. However, go on YouTube and type in "Love addiction" in the search bar, and you will see many free videos that you can start watching right away. There are also podcasts on this subject too, that you can listen to on your phone.
Also, type in those same words on Amazon, and I am sure they will have hundreds of books on this subject. Read some of the reviews for each book that looks interesting to you, and I am sure something good will catch your eye.
Good for you, and keep up the self awareness work! It will all be worth it in the end :-)
